Lets take Greg Pyke for example (Im not sure you know who he is) Just google his name

pyke has yet to ever fully live up to the hype or expectations. Maybe he will be a great pro one day but so far he has been an average sec lineman and his draft position (if he doesn't play himself out of being drafted this year) will reflect that

Yes. And I mentioned we lost him. but we couldn't get the ball to him. I would be willing to bet, at the end of the year we have more passing yards than we did last season. (Yes, I know Eason will be a big part of that....but what good is talent if you can't utilize it? We could not utilize our WR last year.

Everybody was screaming about how bad he was. We picked up a pretty good Catalina to take his place.

I mentioned with the exception of top flight pass rushers.

Marshall Morgan

That has probably made the biggest impact.

But we are vastly better at QB, TE and probably secondary since we added Mo Smith. Just like losing our Kicker was a big deal adding Eason makes a HUGE difference.

58 catches were the most in richts tenure. We got him the ball very well and now he is on the patriots.

He wasn't bad. He was a steady 4 year starter who was consensus 1st all sec and a nfl talent. In short, He was much better than Catalina.

Eason threw a pick 6 and the wr's can't catch so the talent upgrade didn't help today. 2 frosh tight ends who have to block just aren't gonna make a big impact. Mo has made 2 good plays since he arrived. Both in game 1.

We have one vastly better QB. If he gets hurt, or his game goes to shite, it gets grim pretty quickly.

We lack everything:
We lack wr,ol, defense, coaching, size, strength, creativity, execution, discipline, on and on. I would have at least expected to see Kirby bring some toughness and player development. Our linebackers look like DBs, DE look like average sized linebackers. Blame Richt but Kirby and staff have been underwhelming regardless of the hand they were dealt. Oh, by the way, all the posters on here that sing sweet bye and bye when we miss on key recruits need to STFU because it does matter.

I'd also say we're not lacking @ TE or RB

I've been on the "not enough talent" bandwagon before today's debacle but, after today I may actually agree that coaching is coming into this failure.

We're not only seeing a talent deficiency, but also an effort deficiency. We've got a bunch of players recruited by CMR, who practiced under CMR, and who lost important games under CMR, losses often chalked up to a lack of mental preparedness.

CMR, per his own words, didn't put football above all else. He wasn't an emotionally negative guy. If a player screwed up he was more likely to pat them on the helmet than to get in their arse.

Along comes CKS and company...these guys will never be mistaken for Richt and his staff. Football is everything, recruitment stars mean nothing, effort in practice and on the field imperative.

I get the sense some of the guys, who came to UGA based on Richt's personality, character, and faith-central beliefs are completely overwhelmed by CKS and company. I believe we'll lose several players in the offseason and I don't CKS will give one damn about it. They no longer fit on a UGA football team.
