Idea borrowed from another forum - when the players start the nfl crap and start kneeling and other crap, will you still go to games? Or still support them? Just curious as to how college fans would react when - not if - college players start acting like kappercrap.

I hope not. Depends what happens. That's dangerous ground imo. I use to be a football fanatic for college and nfl. Now the nfl isnt the same to me. I use to watch any game I could. Now I don't care all that much. Put a bad taste in my mouth if you would.

I watch sports to get away with the 24/7 political bullshite. It's bad enough every commercial is loaded with this shite.

If they bring it to sports im turning the shite off. Haven't watched the NFL in years. I'm not paying someone to preach at me or tell me where I should lean politically. frick off

Agreed. I’m as big a fan of the Dawgs as any, but that will end it for me. I’ve seen some of the players IG posts and I wouldn’t doubt we will be seeing it soon.

The shite that has happened this week at Oklahoma State is insane.

If that stuff starts to become normal around the country I'll be done with college football

I'm not gonna care. The games are still entertaining as hell for me to watch.

I'll be pissed in the back of my mind when they disrespect the flag and anthem, but when the game starts, I'm not gonna lie and say I'm not enjoying watching plays just because I have a bitter taste in my mouth.

Most of these kids are ignorant brainwashed egocentric real world oblivious dipshits who have never been told "No" in their lives, and they have no clue what's really going on and won't figure that out until they're out of the sport washed up with bad knees and constant headaches.

Why am I going to worry about what they think or believe? I'll concentrate my angst on the one or three of them who specifically try to abuse the platform to influence others, probably (ie. the Kaperdouche pricks), but I'm not going to fret about the idiot majority of athletes who just spout off randomly on rare occasion with retarded ignorance.

I love watching football, and that's not going to change. I'm done buying their products, though. And I will pay attention to whom advertises with them, and if those advertisers shove some identitarian/intersectional political bullshite in my face, I'll consciously avoid their products too. But that's probably about it.

A certain 5 star from California has been tweeting to unfollow him if you support the President. It seems like tolerance and understanding only applies when it’s preached to conservatives.

I'm not going to care because I'm not some right wing snowflake who gets triggered over a team trying to gain good PR or some gen z kids repeating what they hear from whatever place they get their news from

Non-violent protesting doesn't bother me.

I've had season tix since my freshman year at UGA. And those were mostly lean years. If it gets crazy I would seriously consider dropping tix and focus on hunting or fishing. I thought sports were where the nonsense ended. The brotherhood, especially on a football team, were one of the few places where race relations were what we all hoped they could be. Being a ex-athlete and coaching my son for years, I was bitterly disappointed at how quickly Drew Brees teammates turned on him. I can't enjoy that level of madness.

I won't care in the slightest because I'm a well-adjusted adult.

I like football. Why would I deprive myself of the sport I love just because someone said or did something I may or may not agree with?

Nope, a leftwing snowflake that lies to fit his agenda and has been caught doing so.

Its not just that and you know it. It's all the announcers will be talking about the entire game peddling the same non sense the news is peddling and how historic it is and all of that other mind numbing bullshite.

If I hear an announcer talking about something I don't like I'll either just ignore it or turn the TV down. Gary Danielson has been training me for years to just tune it all out.

I don’t know. I was a fairly avid falcons fan. When all the crap started, I quit following them, pro ball and ESPN. You couldn’t pay me to watch pro basketball. I watch sports to be entertained, not lectured to by rich athletes or talking heads on a sports channel.

Except he won't actually give it up.

Politics already permeates every facet of our lives, and we are pretty good at compartmentalizing all of it. Plus, if you boycott everything you disagree with you would end up naked in the woods foraging for berries.

People will still be watching sports ten years from now, just like we will still be buying cheap shite from China despite the virus they kindly bequeathed us.

I understand that people espousing views you don’t like makes you annoyed, but I don’t see why that would be the thing that makes you stop watching. Let’s be honest, if you’ve watched football up till now you’ve cheered for some bad guys at times. Guys who’ve been rough with women, driven drunk, etc.

UGA has a better track record of getting rid of those people than some other places but let’s be honest it’s been there. If you didn’t quit watching because of those things I have to question why left wing politics is the thing that made you quit.

If you were gonna take a principled stand against watching it seems like you should have already done so a loooong time ago.

Correct , which is why I remove those people from my social media and refuse to watch any news stations. I also try to avoid propaganda movies although anything coming out of hollywood these days is loaded with political non sense. One show I watched for years jumped the shark in 2016 and they got canceled in the house. The majority of my life is playing sports with my boys and also playing sports myself. I don’t really need sports entertainment. It can be removed just as easily as it can be added.
