It's comical we are still trying to blame Richt, especially after last night.

There are bigger forces at work. Im not a falcons fan but that loss hurt me just as much because of the ramifications it meant for the Braves and Dawgs. We are going up against some evil shite and need our azor ahai to save us.

I fear that we will all be passed before he returns.

Everything you've said is dead on but it's not going to happen. Too much weird voodoo shite going on. Someone call an exorcist because at this point we are pretty much fricked before we even begin.

Roster means nothing if we can't score points.
Scoring points won't be easy if we can't run in the redzone.
Running for touchdowns in the redzone isn't easy with the transition that we are facing on the offensive line.

Did you not see Wynn get pushed back 2 yards run blocking when facing NFL quality DTs? He is undersized for a guard. Your OP makes it sound like he's a preseason All SEC or something.

Look at Florida. Great defense... but fighting for their life against inferior opponents because they can't put up points. And it isn't about the QB (QBs always get too much credit and too much blame). It is about running the damn ball in this conference.

If we can establish a dominant running game... there is no reason that 2017 isn't the year.

My concern is that we will put it together later in the year. We will miss a few key games in the first half while the OL builds chemistry and experience.

Assuming that Wynn stays put at guard, that is 4 new position starters learning how to make reads, calls, and trust one another.

Agree 100%. Having all of these great young guys should equate to much success in the future if they grow into their shoes and get developed (which remains to be seen). That will take time.

Having two grown men running the ball will help ... and maybe Eason will improve as much as we all hope he does. Still...if your Oline gets pushed around there's only so much you can do in this conference. I don't care how many stars you have, if you're use 19 and the guy lining up across from you is 22 you have a problem.

I have faith in Pittman though so we'll see.

If you think defense, quarterback play and having a talented and experienced roster has NOTHING to do with being a successful football team, then that tells me all I need to know about your football knowledge.

I hope you are right but I have serious reservations about offensive coaching. Eason and our receivers deserve better than Chaney.

I'll bite on this one.

Who are the 10 best pocket passers in this conference and how many conference championships have they won?

When you think about our conference championships, are you thinking of wide receivers or running backs?

It is about rushing for TDs. Always has been. Bama, LSU, Florida, and Auburn have been winning conference championships off of a dominant running game (sometimes with a dominant running QB to help).

Their defenses also have something in common. Dominant run defense (I never said that run defense isn't important). Even the bad 2010 Auburn defense was strong against the run.

I will wait for you to tell me how many championships Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, Andre Woodson, Matt Stafford, and Jay Cutler have won.

I think Wynn's spot may be less secure than is assumed on message boards.

His wingspan and athleticism make him interesting at tackle.
His weight on the interior is more typical for a center.

As a guard, I see the benefits of him pulling out ahead of the play. But how many plays are we going to pull the guard? Too often and defensive slants will cut through the backfield making life very difficult. Too few, and we would best be served putting a bigger body that can handle the size/talent in the SEC.

Ya our offensive line coming together will define this season imo. There really are not any stellar offenses in the SEC that our defense shouldn;t be able to hold down. So its going to come down to can we score points?

Like most have said, play action passes are most effective when the opponent has to play the run first. IF they know we can't run the ball, then play action passes become pretty much useless.

The oline we have coming in is ridiculously talented, but it will take time for them to put it all together.

The speed at which the oline gels will dictate how far we can go this season.

I do believe that Eason's development along with the WR's catching 400 balls a day, Im looking at you Chigbu, will also be a factor.

The problem with all this conjecture is that we just won't know until Fall camp how things are shaking out.

We absolutely SHOULD win the East this year, but I'm done predicting a championship of any kind until it happens. We're not capable of competing with Bama yet, so even if we win the East I highly doubt anyone from the division could really contend.

We would almost be better off if we lost to Florida, and they lost to Michigan and Florida State and both went undefeated after that. They win the East and we lose one game all year but lose the East. The committee has already proven you don't have to win your conference (Or even play for the conference championship) to go to the playoffs.)

Which would you prefer? Beat Florida and lose the East? Or lose to Florida and go to the playoffs?
If we went to the playoffs every year, I could live with losing to Florida every year.
I'm not a GT fan that doesn't care if we ever win anything as long as we beat our rival.

We are probably in no position to beat Alabama, but if we don't go to the SEC Championship, we could still make the playoff.

That's easy.
Beat Florida, win the East, and go to the new Mercedes Dome to play for the fricking SEC Championship.

You're contradicting yourself, the SEC championship means something to this old dawg.
Helll, if you back door the playoffs you're still going to play Bama. Grow a pair

Oof...This is one hell of a leap. We need to win the east. It's down, the perception is that it's down. There is little to no chance that a loss to UF would still keep us in the CFP discussion even if we win every other game. We don't have that much in the way of good wins to point to in the first place even if we win out. Auburn, UF, ND, UT. Our rotating west is Miss St, which might surprise but is certainly not as good as they were say 2-3 seasons ago. Mizzou will be improved with Locke but losing their best defensive player on the line. Vandy losing a couple of their stars.

If the playoffs happen, so be it. But right now, Kirby needs to plant the flag and say the east runs through Athens. Win every game, go to the SECCG and lose to Bama... don't give a shite whether we're in the playoffs or not, it was a great year...
