I think Richt would be the perfect DIII coach. DI where winning a natty is the ultimate goal of the recruits, the school and the fans not so much.

You need to post much, much less

Coach Richt cared more for his players and the University of Georgia than he cared about his own personal ambition.

He was paid, in part, to make sure you had that impression.

As he stood in Miami yesterday with the U outfit on the athletic department was passing out "welcome Coach Richt home" flyers and talked about being home and such.

He is, of course, now paid to make sure those fans think positively of him and the team.

The man makes more than $10000 per day. All he has to do to get that money is wake up every day.

He is not a bad guy. I don't think he is good coach but any of you that think money is not at the center of these men's concerns you are wrong.

One more thing--I don't think being a "good man" is anything unique about CMR. What coach today in the SEC is not a good man? Vince Dooley, Ray Golf and even Donnan were good men. A court even declared Donnan an innocent man.

The correct term is "Not Guilty". Huge difference to being innocent. One of my sayings is "Just because you did it, it doesn't mean your guilty"

I don't think Donnan had enough business sense to have done what he was accused of. I believe he was innocent and so did the jury that heard the case.

1. His roster management was not good. He just couldn't produce a complete team; we were always lacking in several positions on every team.
2. Recruiting. He often could not reel in difference makers within our own state and his stubborn insistence on not over-signing meant that we did not account for normal attrition leading to not having a full roster.
3. He did not instill good team discipline on or off the field. We racked up critical penalties and his players were too often involved with off-field incidents.
4. He too often failed to hire successful assistants and in the case of Martinez he apparently let a personal relationship prevent him from firing an assistant with poor performance.

That is very well put and right on point.

Richts refusal to account for attrition is far and away the thing that pissed me off the most about him. If he had a full roster for the SECCG in 12 instead of 69 we may not be having this conversation right now.

Well he took it from the Goof and Donnan level

Donnan was a significant improvement over Goff - not exactly fair to lump them together in a singularity of suck.
