I will admit that I don't follow recruiting much because it seems a little creepy for a middle aged man to be paying much attention to an 18 year old boy who ain't his son but why did we recruit Batua? Were we planning on running the type of offense that he excelled in in high school? If we were why haven't we?

I think Bauta was always meant to be a "depth" QB. A lot of people forget that the original plan was for this season to be Christian Lemay's season to be the senior starter. Obviously that never panned out, and Jacob Park couldn't stand not being handed the starting job on a silver platter and skipped town. That left Richt with no choice but to use Bauta other than what was intended. JMO.

For the same reason we got Logan Grey, we sell these kids a bill of goods and tell them we will have a package for them and blah blah. Always ends up being a waste of a schooly.

We missed on Lemay, missed on Park, missed on Ramsey, Bauta was a depth decision and Mason was a depth decision. We haven't recruited a decent QB since Mett and Murray.
