What percentage of Georgia fans honestly think that we should be in the playoffs?

My uneducated guess would be somewhere between 12.5 percent and 14.3 percent.

shite happens sometimes. It was just one of those years. The good news is that from here on out we can lose 2 games and probably most definitely make the playoffs. On to the new era!

Depends on what criteria you’re using, if it’s four most deserving then no but if it’s four best then yes.

Should? Depends on your definition. We should have beaten Alabama, but we didn’t. Injuries, a few terrible, game changing calls, lack of calls on Bama should have been overcome, but were not.

Bama losing to Texas almost made them a package deal. Texas’ loss was worse than our’s, but they couldn’t let Bama in without them.

From a pure should of the 4 best teams, there is no way Vegas would have us as a Dog to all 4 teams that made it…and if they truly want the 4 best teams, there is no better measurement.

^^^ If the criteria is “what teams opposing coaches don’t want to play”, we’re not only in, but in at #1 or #2, at worse.

I’m not sure, but the ones with the capacity for abstract thought knew it wasn’t happening.

Criteria being the way that the Playoff Committee historically has done things the last 10 years choosing the teams.

We lost, we are out. In a different year, with less teams at the top, we definitely stay in (TCU last year) but it wasn't going to happen this year.

I'm honestly more upset that FSU got hosed in favor of Bama. Now we get to watch Nick Saban win another championship because Auburn is inept, Florida cheap shot another team's QB, and a pass that was dropped wasn't reviewed. That's one lucky SOB. At least everyone will go back to hating Bama again more than us!

We are inarguably one of the 4 best teams in the country.

Honestly I don't. It just irks me Bama beat us again in the SECCG and slithered their way in.

Yeah fricking right

Texas is gonna prison rape them… still not convinced Michigan doesn’t take them out in round 1.

No, based on the criteria that the committee apparently applies:
It's the 4 best teams weighted with conference championships of the 5 major conferences.
Basically, a conference non-champion must have a better record than a conference champion.
So for instance, if Texas had 2 losses then we might have gotten in over FSU since they lost their star QB to injury and apparently the committee wasn't impressed with the capability of their backup QB's especially when the #2 backup sustained a concussion in FSU's gave vs Florida.

I look at it this way....

We had our shot to beat Bama and remain #1. We didn't.

In fact, our offense was pretty much shut down. I know we had some injuries, but everyone does and we above all else, with the Injuries to the Bama and Ohio St receivers in our big games with them, know that's a lame excuse.

We lost. We controlled our own destiny. Too many good teams this year to backdoor in. I am ok with the outcome and do not believe we deserve to be there.

FSU is the one who got screwed imo

much like bama is chained to texas, we are similarly chained to bama. There's no chance we get int he playoffs unless bama does too, and there's no chance bama gets in the playoff unless texas does too.

If people really want to hammer home the "best teams" argument, then are you really goign to kick out washington? Because it seems like it'd be michigan then those 3 that are tied at the hip as far as "best". And if you say "well no way, Washington is undefeated and has some great quality wins and a heisman candidate and they definitely desreve it" then who decides "best" and where is the line drawn?

I could live with yesterday's bullshite if that's how they did it every year. If you can anticipate bullshite coming because it's been that way annually then you can't really compalin when it actually happens. But the committee was 100% correct and oogical and rational for 9 years and did every single thing right and correct, then this yera just completely threw all of it out the window and did the exact fricking opposite. I still can't believe it. If I was a Florida state fan, or if we were soimehow in their shoes, I don't know how I'd function for a few days. I would probably get some very improper thoughts about retlatiatory action (but obviously not ever act on it)

well, that criteria was flipped on its head yesterday.

If you go by their previously established criteria we definitely didn't deserve it and had less than zero chance. We are a 1 loss team without a conference title, behind 3 undefeated conference champs, 2 other 1 loss conference champs, and just for good measure throw a 1-loss non champ OSU in the mix as well.

I don't. Lot of people on a FB group I'm on think the game was fixed and the officials decided the game. I thought the officials let them play for the most part. There were a few times I saw our DB's get handsy and they didn't call it. They missed one facemask against Bama, then the questionable horsecollar, and the 4th down pass to Bond. But our offense didn't play like they needed to. The logic they used was fine. If you let Bama in, you have to let Texas in.

My problem with Alabama getting in is I don't think they're all that great and didn't deserve the benefit of the doubt. This isn't one of their best teams. They have one skill position player projected to be drafted on the composite mock draft site that I look at, and that's frigging Jermaine Burton in the fourth round. Maybe if they lost an early game and then barrelled through everybody, that would be different. But they didn't.

9 days before the CFP committee named the Final 4, Alabama needed a miracle to beat a team that'd just lost to New Mexico State 31-10 one week earlier. Yes they beat us and they played a good game, but the football gods were still on their side and if Georgia/Alabama is played 10 times, I think we win 7 or 8.

Florida State is annoying too, but Florida State is the one who got the raw deal imo.

We would've been better off had Bama been undefeated too, headed into the SECCG.
