1) Richt is visibly stressing more than in the past with expectations for this current team through the roof

2) recruiting has never gone better than what is currently being seen as interest in the program by a lot of top tier high school players

3)this is the finest staff under Richt, maybe even ever at Georgia

4)starting QB will be this kid Lambert (transfer from Virgina)

5)Sony Michel is now an official beast and has packed on some serious muscle...T brown is proving to be a really good find as RB coach

6)Holyfield's kid is a monster and wants to come to UGA

7)UT is good enough to win the SEC East

8)Auburn is loaded and Bama might even come in 3rd in the West if arky plays up to their ability

9)Kirby Smart is next HC at Georgia (ok, I made that one up)

10) Muschamp will probably follow Spurrier's eventual exit from South Carolina to become that programs HC.

interesting offseason..and just starting to heat up

You could easily argue the 01-04 staff is the best we've ever had top to bottom.

I really only thought about the top four or so coaches. If you look at entire staff there is no telling.

I find this unlikely, unless Schotty and CMR see something in this kid that his gameplay from UVA doesn't reveal. Looked pretty mediocre even on a weak team.

Well, I had a lengthy reply typed out, but I just deleted it. The more I think about it...I might change my tune.

Original thoughts: Bobo as QB coach is boss, but Richt was calling the plays. And he did an admirable job at that. Van Gorder is obvious...I truly think he's, AT THIS POINT RIGHT NOW, no worse than 1a defensive coordinators we've ever had. Problem with comparing him to erk is that he was only here for 4 years. But the dude gave up 30 points ONE TIME in 4 years (sec champ game to the national champ). That is almost unbelievable. Willie was a wonderful DB coach. But the biggest wildcard is Fabris, who was a special teams maestro. We blocked hella kicks under him, both our return units were awesome, and he was a fantastic DE coach to boot.

Now to this year. We don't really know about Sale and Schott, so who knows. Pruitt isn't to BVG status yet....but could be eventually. Ekeler and scherrer are both solid. Rocker is solid. Brown and Mcclendon are excellent.

I guess that there just isn't enough time yet. That 01-04 staff had 4 years to prove itself, this year's staff has had 1 year or less. But..I will say that after thinking about it, I can definitely see it being up there.

I thought I was the only one who did that. Glad to know I'm in good company.

It happens a lot when I'm drinking. I'll type something out and be like "no, that's stupid"

Yup. I was about to delete the thread I started last night until I accidentally hit submit and the title read $aw then (no message) after that I figured it was meant to be.

Coach Fab devoted an unbelievable amount of time to special teams. He was as devoted to ST as he was intense. The man was practically nocturnal too. He would literally stay up all night watching film, tweaking formations, and coming up with elaborate sets and plays. The entire team responded to him really well too because they respected him and bought in....not to mention they were scared shitless of him back then before he turned his life around.

Agreed. Having the #1 QB in the nation coming garners interest on offense and defense. Quite a coup for our staff.

3)this is the finest staff under Richt, maybe even ever at Georgia

See #2

4)starting QB will be this kid Lambert (transfer from Virgina)

Maybe, but I think it's still undecided. He'll certainly get some snaps and can't hurt to have.

5)Sony Michel is now an official beast and has packed on some serious muscle...T brown is proving to be a really good find as RB coach

Michel's a great talent who'll make Chubb even better. I think we'll have a better backfield this season than last.

6)Holyfield's kid is a monster and wants to come to UGA

Talked to Evander last week (no shite) and asked him about Elijah. He smiled and said that he hopes he'll stay close to home. We'll see.

7)UT is good enough to win the SEC East

Ut'll be our comp in a weak division. I think our schedule favors us over them. And we still have better talent.

8)Auburn is loaded and Bama might even come in 3rd in the West if arky plays up to their ability

Frick Auburn. The bigger they are, the more likely they lose to UGA. Bring 'em on. Did I say frick Auburn?

9)Kirby Smart is next HC at Georgia (ok, I made that one up)

No way. Our next HC is now an asst. at UGA.

10) Muschamp will probably follow Spurrier's eventual exit from South Carolina to become that programs HC.

Good. I hope so. USCe might quit football after that.

Pruitt is the next head coach at UGA. In two or three years.
