Mark Richt wasn't blocking bama's DL on the play ya goober

The play was doomed by confusion that would not have existed had the ball been spiked immediately. Before that play Murray was running downfield making the spike motion to let everyone know what to do. The moronic decision to go fast was just another of the umpteen times Mark Richt outsmarted himself. Thank goodness Richt is gone.

82 Sugar Bowl and 2012 SEC CG...hands down and no comparison.

Pro sports for me are merely a passing hobby....I can take them or leave them. I have been a Atlanta pro team fan all my life but when they lose, which they do more then they don't (some of you don't remember watching the Braves play in Atlanta Fulton County Stadium in front of 3000 people) it just doesn't mean anything....the same way with a win.

Georgia football on the other hand is like a fricking cancer that just east away at the sole and you can't get away from it no matter how bad you want. This years Auburn game is the first game since 1971 that I wasn't completely emotionally invested in from start to finish whether I was in the stadium, watching on TV, listening to Munson when not all games were on TV or standing in the middle of Potzdammerplatz in Berlin because the game was being broadcast on Radio Free Europe (not AFN but NPR International) and that was the only spot I could pick it up.

It would have been nice to see the Falcons win a superbowl but given a choice between that and the Dawgs beating Florida and it isn't even close to me.....

I do and that's what made '91 so special. We should've won it that year.

4) We were up 11 points late in the 3rd quarter. Maybe, just maybe, the fact that we had no DL to rotate in and let them run all over us in the 4th quarter lost us the game.

Our inability to stop them on 3rd and 4 or so over and over and over again is what beats us....and has beat us so many times in my 51 years I can't count 'em all. Gotta get a stop every once in a while....get one more stop in 2012 SEC CG and Mark Richt is still our coach....

Get one more TD and he's still our coach. That's why you spike the ball and get the best possible play set up. Not to mention we would have had about 12 seconds which is easily 2 plays. Dumb dumb decision cost us the game at the end.

Agreed...but that was one squandered opportunity...we had about 6000 chances to stop Derrick Henry (wasnt he the tailback for Bama) in the second half and we failed everytime.....on stop, one punt, one turnover and we were national champions that year and like someone said it would be Mark Richt Stadium

I think it was '83 when we won the NL West and lost in 4 straight to St Louis...that was another pretty dreary episode in the life of Braves fans...

2012 SEC Champ obv, but I have another more personal story

2000 - USCjr - I was in Williams-Bryce when our #10 Bulldogs lost to a South Carolina team that was 1 for their last 22 games. We had dreams of a National Championship and Heisman QB until that day when Quincy Carter threw 5INTs and all hopes were crushed. Sitting in traffic after the game dying to get back to Athens, a group of guys crossed right in front of us carrying the goal post. Crushing feeling that day.

Thats the name...fricker just kept getting 5 and 6 yards on every fricking play...it was a reminder of how everyone felt when Herschell did the same thing to them for 3 seasons....it was like torture....
