I think he was, and I am not just asking this because of the terrible commentary (that is to be expected). About halfway through the 3rd quarter it started to sound like Musburger was doing his best Bob Uecker impression from the Major League Movies. He was beginning to slur some words and it was getting noticeably worse as the second half progressed and if the game had gone into over time he would have been a complete shite show.

the best part was on mizzou's like 4th and forever which was going to end the ballgame, he was reciting the mets-cubs score directly before the snap. he did this multiple times but that time was most noticeable

"3-1 mets, top of the 8th, and here comes the snap"

Yeah I noticed he had mentioned the baseball game a few times before that, but I kind of thought it was just him trying to be quirky. I mean I understand mentioning other sporting events that are taking place throughout the broadcast, but doing it before the biggest play of the game was pretty awful. Also worth noting, Jesse Palmer looked like he was trapped inside of a tanning bed for a few months or decided to lightly apply blackface.
