Shouldn’t have watched the 2013 game highlights. It was just my worst in person experience ever as a UGA fan.

The last time we played Vanderbilt on the road at 11:00 a.m. we won 62 to nothing so I'm not really concerned about the game time.

That was also James Franklin’s best Vandy team against a UGA team that had an awful defense and a slew of injuries on offense. That team at that point was Aaron Murray vs. the world.

And it still took a BS targeting ejection for Vandy to win. I wouldn’t worry a whole lot.

We should sign Grantham to a one day contract to stand on the sidelines and intimidate the Vandy coaches.

That play was probably the reason that rule changed the next year to be reviewed for all targeting not just a judgement call

still one of the most egregiously bad calls I've ever witnessed. You can see the ref has the flag out of his pocket and in his hand before ray drew even makes contact. Based on that, you could argue that maybe the ref saw somethign else and started to pull his flag, then later decided ot call targeting instead, but still. There is literally no rational explanation whatsoever that this hit should have resulted in a penalty and ejection.

Still remember watching that game in Athens on a cold rainy day screaming at those “targeting” calls.

What's crazy is that wasn't even the worst targeting call from that game. They called targeting on Ramik Wilson on 4th down, and overturned the call. But that was the dumb rule at the time where even when the call was overturned they still applied the 15 yard penalty so it was an automatic first down for Vandy. Still the dumbest rule I think I can remember college football having.

There are a ton of dumb rules which have a negative affect on the game.

The referee crew being coached not to blow plays dead (fumble) when the video review requires 100% video evidence to overturn and correct the call on the field.

Referees being coached to throw targeting and roughing the passer flags with the opportunity for video review to save a player from ejection but not correct the call on the field.

Oh man, that 2013 Vandy game. That may be the most livid I've ever been after a UGA football game. That targeting call that cost us the game. 2016 Vandy homecoming was pretty awful too.

It’s between that game and 2019 seccg for me.
It was wild at vandy when the targeting penalties came out and we started booing everything. We even booed when they were handing out awards on the field to their other sport athletes during tv timeouts.

2016, much like 2006, you could mentally wipe away by the fact that we simply were not a good football team. I mean vandy isn't either but whatever. That 2013 game though was a travesty. Granted we had already lost half our offense before the game started, and we had another WR go down during the game so we were basically playing our 2nd string, but still. No reason we should've lost that game at all but it was taken away by piss poor officiating.

Good thing we've got a couple natties since so it eases the sting a bit ha.

I feel like Vanderbilt doesn't get enough hate.

1. I've only been football-shite-talked -to twice in my life. One of those times was a Vandy man who was with his children. Very odd.

2. They had that bitch kicker that time.

3. They remind me a lot of Tech folks minus an actual technical degree. Congrats on your BA in Economics, I guess.

There are some things to hate on Vandy for. I’m not sure their education is one of them

I’m still pissed at that game. It was the closest I’ve felt to a game being fixed. I sat in the cold, drizzling rain at 11:0am just mad as hell. I sat in the suite at a concert later that night just drinking in silence.

I legit hate Vandy more than anybody but Florida and Tenn.

Looks like the ref was considering flagging the Vandy RT for dragging Jordan Jenkins down and then reconsidered.
