UT hired Dooley, LSU hired Hallman, do we really want a minor league coach?

The idea we need a HC from a small program is just not valid.

Smart is in a big program. He knows what it is to win. He is a Dawg.

Smart is probably the cheapest candidate. McG will love that.

I doubt Smart will be cheap given every school with an opening has him on their list.

Of the candidates mention he is the most in demand. USCe, VA TECH, MO all would hire him tomorrow over anyone else on our list.

10 years ago lol

ETA: didn't realize only 3 coaches won the SEC championship game in their first head coaching job.

Vince Dooley won the SEC several times in his 1st coaching job.

Mark Richt won it twice.

it's a GA tradition for 1st time head coaches to win the SEC at UGA

Tom Herman is just one year removed from being in the same position Kirby is right now at a big program.

I'm a big fan of Kirby and would not at all be disappointed with him as the HC. There are plenty of reasons to believe that he could be successful. If were to pick between the two though I'll take Herman. As much as I respect the Nick Saban style, it may be time for the SEC to have some new blood brought in.
