Maybe I’m behind but since when has DUI been a misdemeanor?

He will just have to run steps in front of boosters. Nothing to see. Keep it moving.

At least he wasn’t speeding! I’m kidding, hope this is a bump in the road for him, his punishment will be worse than going to jail!

When was it ever a felony? Thought it’s always been a MD unless it’s like the 3rd or something

I guess I’m operating under the old-school definition of a felony simply meaning any singular offense that can land you a year or more behind bars? Idk man. I’m not a lawyer. Whatever it is, it’ll ultimately end up not amounting to much but I’m damn tired of this stuff happening.

He will be punished behind closed doors. We will never hear about it again. He will start week 1.

SIAP but apparently his charge indicates he was under the legal limit but he gets the DUI because he’s not 21 yet. Makes more sense now. Some charges that were added on seemed ticky tack.

I was thinking it had more to do with marijuana, since it was DUI-less safe. Could be the underage thing too. My first thought was they thought he was high

It's never been a felony in GA for the first offense.

Given the history of UGA players and driving offenses, your take on this is just as bad as your in-game posts.

At what point does it stop? Kirby needs to get control before someone else has to step in

These are kids that have stupid amounts of money, been told they were invincible their entire lives, have access to an amazing downtown scene, hot college chicks, plenty of marijuana, etc etc etc. wtf is Kirby going to do? With NIL and transfer portal, if he starts with harsher punishments, the kids will just leave or might never come here in the first place...

I do agree though, the University needs to do more education, easier access to ride shares, whatever they can. I know it will still happen because kids are stupid, but probably could do more from that standpoint

The NFL has rules and contracts and can enforcement punishment league wide. Much different. I wish that were the case in college football, but they fricked everything up with NIL and transfer portal. Happened too fast for them to get rules in place and a governing body with teeth

I think it would be politicized like ncaa punishments have been in the past. Like Gurley and edit: not Mitchell. Sorry meant to say aj green got absolutely hosed by those bastards.

Nick Cellini on 680 said that Kirby needs to take everyone's keys and set up an Uber account just for the football team. Nobody should be allowed to drive themselves.

I'm reading his limit was below an .08. That's like a bottle of beer. I'd be surprised if he gets anything other than some 5 am bleacher running. But who knows...
