Thoughts on today's game

1. I've been in Kirby's corner all season, and still am, but the decision not to kick a FG before the half was ridiculous. I could see through my TV how confident Rodrigo was feeling today (touchbacks!!!!) and yet Kirby declined to give the kid a chance and, in the process, could have cost us the game.
2. Nick Chubb is not the same RB he was 2 seasons ago. He's committing way too early and it's costing him huge yardage. Is this because of his knee? Herrien, a freshman, shows more patience than Nick has been....that's not good. Chubb used to have that patience....he ran people over but he also changed direction quickly while using patience to pick his hole. Chubb is proving himself to be the Dawg's Derrick Rose....what could've been.
3. Surely Mecole is practicing better than Briscoe at this point?
4. Godwin is the most overrated 5* recruit we've had in some time. Kid is halfway through his sophomore season and I still don't yet know what it is he brings to the game. He rarely gets open, is small, can't return punts....I guess he allows us to run the Wild Dawg?

Agreed on all points. Will also say..Briscoe has been a liability all year, way past time for a change!

I haven't been in Kirby's corner, ever, because there was never any logical reason to support this hire. I support the University of Georgia, but can't blindly accept everything they do as positive or smart (no pun intended). Hiring Smart was a dumb gamble, and he has repeatedly proven that it was a bad choice. He's not a good head coach now, probably never will be but certainly not soon enough to salvage our football program.
We should cut our losses, fire Shart at the end of this season and hire an existing head coach with some promise. After three years of Smart, there's a good chance this program will not recover for a long time.
PS. Repeatedly trashing our players is not going to make this better. They'll end up hating Smart for making them look bad, and top recruits will not be attracted to this dumpster fire. We might be about to witness the worst UGA season in a long, long time.

His jimmies were rustled when Saint Richt got fired, and I don't think he's ever fully recovered.

There we go. The real reason you don't like Richt. You hate a coach that averaged 10 wins a season, and will accept 3 really bad losses (And probably moew) from anybody else.

Yeah, Richt's religious practices are why we all wanted him fired. That's it.

Recover to what? Middle of the pack in the shitty East? That's where Richt had us.

I kind of understand that decision, because those kicks can be blocked and/or returned for a TD. But if you're going to avoid kicking the FG, and go for a Hail Mary, maybe use receives that are over 6 feet tall?

This. It is not like they didn't see how it is done two weeks ago. By all means, please trot out 16 and 5 to get easily washed out of the play instead of Chigbu, Wims,, Nauta, Woerner, etc. Just dumb

Well, at least then we were better than Vandy. 13-2 against them in the last 15 years.
