Sorry for another thread but this was on my mind too. That seems kinda crazy doesn't it?

13- Murray
14- Mason
15-
16- Eason
17- Fromm

I have faith in Fromm, our defense, and the whole team really, but I wonder how much of a factor it is playing that game with a guy that hasn't seen them before.

It's a big factor when you're dealing with the kind of speed and physicality UF typically brings to the table. I haven't seen that this year, though.

We started "Mark Richt's non-intentional letter of resignation" at QB that week, don't you remember? Gotta love the man, but that was an all time derp from a coach who knew how to derp with style at times.

I just pulled the stats beginning in the Richt era of QBs who faced UF as freshmen and then again as sophomores. Surprisingly the numbers got worse from year 1 to year 2 for 2/3 of them which was a bit surprising.

David Greene
01: 25/42 (59.5%) 258 yards, 0 TD/1 Int
02: 11/29 (38%) 141 yards, 1 TD/0 Int

Matt Stafford
06: 13/33 (39%) 151 yards, 0 TD/2 Int
07: 11/18 (61%) 217 yards, 3 TD/1 Int

Aaron Murray
10: 18/37 (49%) 313 yards, 3 TD/3 Int
11: 15/34 (44%) 169 yards, 2 Td/1 Int

I worry about the OL.

Gaillard went from stud to struggling going from Vandy to Mizzou (they have talent on the DL). I don't know the Florida personnel, but I am worried about us struggling with their physicality up the middle.

We can seal defenders on the OL. But we don't seem very physical. There is no knock off the line. There is a collapsing pocket when we face quality DL.

Yes I remember.

I was one of the ones that thought a change couldn't hurt, epseically with 2 weeks to prep and lambert not begin very good. What I don't understand is why we didn't change our offensive scheme AT ALL to fit FB's strengths, and why we continued to leave him in when it was clear it wasn't working.

Oh well though, we're in a better place now.

I hear ya, but I think there's something ot be said for getting fresh legs. Kindley has been banged up most of the season so I imagine getting him and Gaillard a few weeks off will be nice.

Yeah, that was the maddening piece of it... not that we tried him... that we tried him without playing to his strengths?

Either way... This:

And it looks like he's better off for it as well.

I still think Richt knew what McGarity was going to do and decided he didn't care. McGarity showed his lack of class at the end and I told him so at an alumni function that spring. He tried to get me banned from future events. Next time I saw him I stared and smiled when he looked our way.

I had to think for a minute who was QB1 for that game.
We've come a long way in a short time

Mark Richt "Florida is susceptible to the run and a running QB. How about this? Let's take our 2nd string, running QB and make him pass? That'll stump 'em." That is the is the only thing I can come up with.

The smartest coaches are said to be playing chess when others are playing checkers. That game, Richt was playing Connect Four.
