It's an REO Speedwagon rumor; Heard it from a friend who, heard it from a friend who, heard it from another...but apparently coming from some Florida fans in the know, UGA is the 'team to beat' for him.

Some were questioning this move, since we got 3 good looking recruits coming in and lots of injured players (hopefully) coming back. And someone pointed out, that Milton and Edwards could come back and take their COVID year (doubtful, I'd think). Does KS not see all of this as sufficient depth? On the other hand, this kid does look pretty good so maybe this is a player he can't NOT take a chance on getting?

Thoughts?

Portal doesn’t open until Monday. No one is in it, just people saying they intend to enter it. It’s only open like 30 days or something for players not on a CFP team, who get until after the championship game. I think the next 30 day portal is then open in April.

Milton and Edwards are likely gone. That leaves very little experience and Etienne can come in for one year and leave.

I don't know anybody who's heard anything, but my guess is that Georgia will prioritize nose tackles, defensive tackles and then hopefully take a safety and a running back.

With a torn patella tendon, doubtful.

Definitely long rehab. Never be the same, to be determined. Took Chubb 2 years and he didn’t tear the patella. I’ve read that Branson is attacking rehab so we’ll see.

I’m of the belief that you can never have enough good players. I like what I saw of Etienne at UF. Was kinda surprised he wasn’t featured more. Assuming Edwards and Milton leave, he’d be up against 3 incoming freshman, a rehabbing Branson, Rod Rob, and Andrew Paul. On top of that, injuries and transfers are possible as well. As we saw this year, depth can disappear quickly. I’d take him in a heartbeat.

I do believe we also have some highly ranked freshmen coming in, no?

Nate Frazier out of Mater Dei and Dwight Philips from Pebblebrook are top 10 in On3's RB rankings.

Frazier and Bowens are the ones more likely to make an impact as true freshmen in a traditional running back role. Phillips is stupid fast, but id be surprised if he weighed more than 175 in pads.

I'd take him even with what we have coming in. Tell the new commits this is a one and done and they will get carries as well and be ready to move to the 1-2 rotation in 2025.

We average 3 RBs a game and 9+ WRs with at least one catch. There's more than enough to go around.

Last 3 games were just Milton and Edwards, no?

We had a lot of backs against Tennessee.

Against GT, I think Cash was in on a few plays.

It was one of those 3 routes flooding one side of the field where he was one of the 3. I don't think the ball went his way, but he may have influenced a safety in coverage.

I thought Paul and Cash got some carries. And isn't there another RB from Texas that got a few carries?
