Heard some grumblings from people at work that it doesn't look like Eason is holding the ball at the correct angle for the kick.....maybe true if so then maybe they should put Lambert out there

The could be it, but that would be a VERY easy fix....and if he was kicking ok at practice why would it be affecting it during a game?

Richt quit on UGA long before he was fired

You keep saying this, but it doesn't make it true. Most believe he was gone after the Florida game. We did not lose after that game. Not a single game. He had no QB, our star running back was hurt, yet we won. Doesn't sound like Richt quit, to me.

Pruitt called him out on it.

Really? When? I never saw anything like that. Pruitt was quite vocal about the IPF, yet diplomatic about his HC quitting?

He knew at the beginning of '15 that he would be back at Miami.

You are totally from another planet, man. Amazing how you can just make stuff up on the fly like this.

Kirby did a masterful job of holding things together, yet the misinformed are still criticizing him.

When was this? When Nicholls almost beat us or when we fell behind 45-0 against Ole Miss? Simply masterful, I tell you. Simply masterful! He i to be applauded!

The recruiting rankings made us the 4th best team in the SEC. Top 10 in the country for recruiting? Sure. But when you're losing about 3 games a year because of conference play... you aren't going to get a lot of top 10 finishes.

Correct. but don't try to paint it like we have no talent. Nicholls? Seriously?

We didn't play a good team after Florida, either. Hell, Florida wasn't good last year. They got the hell beat out of them in their last three games by a combined score of 97-24

Two SEC teams and two rivalry games? If they quit, UGA loses a lot of those games.

What is your definition of a good team? Ranked? Winning record? Bowl team? Everybody seems to have a different opinion as to what qualifies for a good team.

But any way you slice it....a coach has given up and quit on his team does not win out no matter who he is playing.

Well, they were good before they lost Grier. After he was suspended, you are right. they were pretty bad. Amazing how they had a Jekyll and Hyde year last year.
Boggles the mind how one player made that much of an impact.

When that one player is a QB who fits the offense perfectly, it makes sense.

It's opinionated, but I use the eye test. Auburn and Penn State were not good teams last year. Alabama obviously was, and Tennessee was at times. Florida was before Grier got suspended.

Good record doesn't always equal good team. See Notre Dame, 2012

At times we were. But Grier made a huge impact on Florida's offense, and Chubb made a huge impact on Georgia's offense. We are better able to handle a loss of Chubb than we were last year, because of Eason. Once we lost Chubb last year we were dead offensively. True, Michel did a great job in Chubb's absence, but nobody would argue that we were the same.

But, our disagreement is on whether Richt wuit the team. had he quit the team, we would have lost to Auburn, Tech, Missouri and maybe even Georgi Southern.

(I realize you were not the one that said that Richt quit on the team, and that he did so before the season even started, but that is what started my rant)

Sometimes the eye test is more accurate than wins and losses, though.

I don't think Richt quit doing his job, but I do think the Richt era got stale after 15 years and I also think it wore on him. He seems re-energized at Miami and the change was needed.

Didn't McElwain hold an open kicker tryout in the middle of the season last year?

Why aren't we being more proactive on this front?? Is it because Kirby can't find this chapter in his Saban syllabus bible that he follows to the letter?

I think Florida did it because they had kickers get hurt. They needed a body.

I have no problem at all with what you said.

I just get tired of the posters that think he has to be made into an enemy. That he quit. That he was bad for Georgia and did things to hurt the program. Their schtick grows tiresome in a hurry. Some on here can't celebrate that they got the coach they wanted. They have to vilify the one that left. I don't get it.

How is it possible to not have a kicker be somewhat consistent at a D1 program like UGA?

This is insane to me. Have we tried Ramsey as a place kicker yet ?

Ramsey's coach at Camden Co. said he's a better PK than punter or QB.

They need to create stress on these kickers during practice. Like every time they miss, the whole team, other than the kicker, has to do wind sprints until they puke. Eventually theyll get their shite together or someone would probably break that kickers leg, and then we could hold an open competition and get a new one.

Or we could just start playing with all four downs inside field goal range and abandon the kicking game all together..

JUST DO SOMETHING THOUGH KIRBY!! Please. Jfc. Isn't there a cliche about doing same thing over n over and expecting different results???

I thought Ramsey did a pretty good job punting. They ought to give him a shot. Can't hurt, right?
