Nine Dawgs in the field this year. . .

That's probably some kind of record, but it's time for #TheGeorgiaPipeline to step up and win more instead of just setting records for attendance.

-Erik Compton
-Harris English
-Brian Harman
-Russell Henley
-Chris Kirk
-Kevin Kizner
-Hudson Swafford
-Brendan Todd
&
-Bubba

Probably the most dramatic and electric tournament of the year behind The Masters and The Open, imo. Well ahead of the other two majors, the pga Championship and the even lamer US open.

Kizner was the runner-up last year in the epic finish where Ricky McFlatbill came out on top, deservedly. Time for revenge. Let's go.

Not sure why dawgsontop35 is'ntt doing a pick em for this. Total bullshite.

Hottest and most humid tournament on the Tour since they moved the date.

The Leader
-9 Jason Day

TheGeorgiaPipeline#
-6 Hudson Swafford (T7)
-3 Brian Harman (T33)
-3 Bubba Watson (T33)
+1 Chris Kirk (T103)
+1 Brendon Todd (T103)
+2 Kevin Kisner (T121)
+2 Russell Henley (T121)
+3 Harris English (T125)
+4 Erik Compton (135)

Can't believe the overall low scoring today on a course that plays so tough traditionally. Impressive number posted by Hudson Swafford, but two thirds of the pipeline are already in danger of missing the cut. . . .

I'm surprised to see Harman that high up the leader board. It's a long course and he doesn't hit it particularly far or straight. Good gotfor him, I hope he continues playing well. The hype surrounding this kid here in Savannah when he was in high school was incredible.

Two thirds of the UGA players didn't even make the cut.

THese are mostly very young players still at the start of their careers, but there are some disturbing patterns developing within the pipeline for a few of them. . .

And then there were three:

-5 Hudson Swafford (T33)
-5 Brian Harmon (T33)
-4 Bubba (T48)

5 Under after any other Friday at The Players and you'd think he'd be in contention. Unfortunately, Jason Day and a few others are humiliating this course and so he's still 9 shots back.

I imagine they'll let the greens dry out and tuck some pins away to try and protect the course over the weekend. COuld make for a bloodbath for some of these guys like Swafford, Harmon, and Bubba that are trying to catch up.

Ehh... It's only 7200 yards at a par 72. That's pretty short for those guys. Accuracy off the tee is much more of a premium, and this year with the rough so low it's not as valuable as it has been in the past. I do feel like the Dawgs generally play pretty well here. Last year we had Kiz and Kirk in the final pairing which was awesome.
