Pull the plug on Richt NOW and hand the ball to Pruitt. If he can be Orgeron-esc and win out, make it permanent.

We can't get Pattersen, Briles, Shaw, Peterson, or Dantonio. Doubtful for Wittingham or Mendenhall. Wittingham would be my favorite choice of those that we might be able to get, but it will take a dump truck full of money to dynamite him out of Utah and outbid USC in the process.

We probably could have gotten Petersen a few years ago if we'd had the sack. That ship has sailed. He's going to finish his career at Washington.

Petersen will end up coaching Eason, just not at UGA. They're still pursing him and with Richt gone from Georgia, why not sign up to play for a proven winner at the hometown team?

I think UGA needs to move away from the current/former philosophy/administration... Start something new and fresh.

I'm sorry but that's just nonsense.

I would roll the dice of Fuentes. Chad Morris is interesting also. Recruited well at CU and knows the ropes around here. I think him and Pruitt could be a dangerous combination and would provide the kind of energy/atmosphere recruits would be attracted to, ala Ole Miss.

Do not want:
Harisin
Dykes
Peterson
Whittingham
Mendenhall

Call it a gut feeling but these guys just don't strike me as coaches taking us to the next level.

I can see your point. I like toughness factor they bring to their teams. You're never gonna bully them around. UGA is soft. That's the biggest issue for me personally.

I realize it that it seems like we ought to able to get one of these guys, but I just don't see it.

Patterson: He's been at TCU for 15+ years and built the program. They are the top of the world right now. Why on earth would he leave?

Briles: He's 59 years old and at the peak of his career. Why would he leave a program that is contending for championships for a rebuilding campaign at a mid-tier SEC school?

Shaw: He's a California native. He played at Stanford. Stanford is now a football powerhouse, situated at the heart of the most prosperous region on the planet. You think he would leave his alma mater in the land of milk and honey for the chance at putting out our dumpster fire?

Petersen: Another West Coast guy who isn't going to be interested in pulling up stakes and moving to Georgia. He was at Boise State almost 15 years. What makes you think he would jump ship after two seasons at UW? Just doesn't line up with what we know about the man.

Dantonio: Also 59 years old and not in the best health. I expect he'll retire after a few more seasons at Michigan State.

Patterson might realize he has a way better chance at winning a natty here. If we want to get him TCU does need to stay out of the playoffs

I'm starting to come around to Kirby Smart. He would be the only one on the list who has a chance of keeping Pruitt on the staff, rumor has it that wherever he goes he'll bring Cochran with him, and he would likely assemble a staff that would compete with any school in the entire nation on the recruiting trail. He's not the loose cannon that Muschamp is but he shows more fire and intensity than Richt does. I think he COULD succeed at UGA.

how do you figure that..all you need is to get into the final 4 and he damned near did that last season..In the SEC you have to be the top ranked team, win the SECCG and UGA couldn't climb over 3-4 other teams to get there if Jesus coached them.

They're in a much softer conference and TCU is in the best state in America for high school football.

How about a surprise hire? When Richt is gone, we hire

*drumroll*

Mark Richt.

He's supposed to be an offensive genius (which we need) and a great recruiter (which we need), and the last school that hired him got 5 years of pretty good service out of him before he hit his ceiling.
