Wow, Braves are already spending the revenue that
they think the new ballpark will provide...hence all the backloaded contracts.

I fully expect them the sign Heyward as well.
Minor,Medlen and Kimbrell might be a different
story...Damn you BJ Upton!Yer KILLING us!

Heyward got his 2 year deal. If he plays well we will probably sign him after that with ugglas and the stadiums money.

Minor and medlen may be hard to keep around forever. Kimbrel is sadly gone soon

I have been a Medlen fan since Tommy Hanson took all his spotlight. He's had it rough lately but he's my favorite and it'll make me sad to see him leave.

Pretty solid read over on Talking Chop about the value that could potentially be created by the club option for the 7th year.

quote:

Six years for $32.4 Million is fair, but the option year at $12 Million is a steal for the Braves.

While the first six years of Julio's contract being guaranteed does represent a substantial risk for the Braves, having the seventh option year at such a reasonable rate more than makes up for this risk

Great news. We need liberty media to crank up the payroll or we're not going to be able to field a full 25 man team

Seriously, my Yankee friends were all taunting me about this for months.

I'm seriously ecstatic

Why don't they televise preseason Braves games on MLB network? I haven't noticed one thus far.

A forearm strain is exactly what Strasburg was diagnosed with after he tore his UCL.

Medlen's MRI apparently shows a tear, that's a big ouch for those leagues that have already drafted
