I like Wood going forward as a SP. Not saying he will be in the rotation this year, but I think that he can be a decent number 3 down the road.

Honestly the future closer roll will be either Shae Simmons who posted 13 and 14 per nine strikeouts per inning in double A or Jason Hursh will become a closer.

I don't really know much about our farm system guys...Wasn't Graham getting groomed to be a closer, too?

Heyward deal is 13.3 million for two years with 1 million signing bonus, $4.5 million in 2014 and 7.8 million in 2015. Also...

Jon Heyman ?@JonHeymanCBS 53m heyward '15 base rises by 500K for 20 pts. 10 pts for 502 PA, GG, AS, SS, MVP 11-20. 15 pts 6-10, 25 pts 3-5, 35 pts 1 or 2

Freeman and the Braves have come to an agreement now too. No details on it yet.

wished we could have gotten Heyward for a couple more years, but i'll take it.

if we had to lock down only one, i'm glad we picked Freddie. Dude is a hitting machine.

Freddie Freeman’s extension with Braves will be for huge dollars. One source told me it is in $100 million range. @FOXSports1

Freddie is 24. Uggla was on the tail end of his prime and BJ I guess just can't handle being in Justin's shadow. BJ hadn't hit over .250 in years when we signed him. I guess it was a move to get Justin too and it could have worked out, but yeah that one was dumb.

Yep, Freddie had a better hitting season last year than Uggla or BJ have ever had.

Why can't the Braves meet Kimbrel in the middle

$9 million is too much to spend on a reliever

Boy, do I disagree, Heyword is a sub 260 career hitter that averages under 20 HRs and under 60 RBIs a year.

Kimbrel is the best reliever in the game. We won't miss Heyword for a second. A lot of potential but short on results. I was hoping, praying we could get through the 8th in the last game vs the Dodgers to get to Kimbrel and bring it back home to Atlanta, but alas, couldn't get to him.

Heywood batted .167 in the series by the way.

Yeah, jettison Kimbrel and sign Heywood, oops they already did the latter. Dumb shits.

HAve to think Kimbrel will need TJ surgery at some point. Relievers don't last, and we won't be able to sign him when he reaches free agency. Might as well get soemthing in return for him leaving, imo.
