Whitetails have to be kind of a letdown after that.

I still think the whitetail is the most challenging hunt . That stag was killed on horseback. Riding along ridge lines and glassing a valley floor.

measured 81 34" for 6 points. So im hoping he is a no doubt boonie this year been hunting him forever. I'll upload picks of the 10 soon.

Who's doing your measurements? Let's see some pix of this beast. Judging by the fact that there's been 8 B&C entries for the state of NC in past 30 years I'm a little skeptical of your story of of a booner.

One of dad's friends we do rough estimates ourselves I know how to measure. I'll send some pics I have to figure out this whole upload thing still. Do you have any better way? It's in Oak Ridge NC I'm hunting on Kevin Harvicks land that he sold before moving to Charlotte. Its around 200 or so acres but it had about an 8' fence around it and no one hunted anywhere near it for years I started hunting it last year with my friend who is developing it for Venture Capital. They bought the place from him. Harvick treated them like pets had two Mexicans who would just ride around and fill up the feeders. He was against hunting.

I also know how many entries there are met most of the guys and took pics with the deer. Dad wrote stories on most all of them. Don Rocketts buck was a good story dude killed it because he had the squirts that morning and came into the woods late and the buck walked across in front of him while going to stand. That's still the all time no. 1 in NC.

To upload pix download imgur app.

All of your pix will need an * though since you're hunting in a 200 acre pen.

Hahaha yea I figured you would say it was penned or something but 8' is nothing for a deer to clear but they stay in general vicinity bc they feel safe. It backs up to the haw river. I wouldn't even hunt there if my dad's uncle who owns the family farm in Dublin didn't go all weirdo about hunting a few years back. It was 1000 acres and had gorgeous pine thickets and swamp bottom.

Got plenty of food and water for em. If they leave it'll be cause they're chasing warm holes.
