This is so so bad for us if he leaves now. We need these next two recruiting classes in a bad way and they'll likely lose key pieces without him (Eason and Godwin chief among them)

Hopefully CMR and crew have a plan in place to fill the OC void IMMEDIATELY or those recruits will start dropping quickly.

Knowing our AD, I'm sure we do not in fact have that plan in place.

It would just be another shining example in a long line of incidents showing UGA admin just don't do what it takes to win. It's freaking embarrassing how underpaid Bobo is.

Because it massively hurts us?

People can be happy for bobo personally advancing in his career and still be pissed at what it means for us as UGA fans at the same time.

He is long overdue for a raise.

The AD needs to double his salary to compensate him fairly, given his success and the benchmark set by other schools/assistant coaches. If the AD doesn't offer a substantial and fair raise (7 digits), then he isn't doing what he needs to do to try to keep Bobo.

Bobo wouldn't get up and go if he got a good raise & contract here.

Because if opened our wallet we could keep him.

I mean a fricking position coach at AU makes more than him.

Potentially, but we don't KNOW that. Let's say we offered him $1M, yeah that'd be nice but for a guy in his position who's been an assistant at the same school for 14 years, it might be enticing to test his mettle as a head coach somewhere.

But yeah..I agree he is woefully underpaid.

I mean yeah, if we offered him a raise and he still left, then I wouldnt have a problem with the AD, but I don think that has happened yet.

To that point, we shouldn't even be in this little "game". He should have already been making more, and he shoudl already be aware that he will getting a raise after this season is over.

If we're playing the cutesy little offer/counteroffer game, I'd be pissed if I was bobo too.

Mark Richt took a QB like MB and turned him into a darn good OC. Why couldn't he do that again with another?

It took Mike being a position coach for 6 years before he was given playcalling duties. Then it took about 5 more years for him to really excel at it.

Just because Bobo of 2014 is a damn fine OC, doesn't mean we can just pluck someone off the street and not miss a beat.

Offensive play books take longer to learn than defensive, too. Any kind of drastic change will set us back.

Because that process takes years. UGA doesn't have years.

What's going to happen is, they're going to hire an OC for about $800K-$900K who isn't as valuable as Bobo. The admin will look fricking retarded, because they will have made a fricking retarded decision to not pay Bobo adequately.
