Damn right.Sorry,KS needs to be coaching and evaluating players on OUR sideline.Don't want to hear about the comittment to the players he recruited. He made a bigger comittment with his new posistion and he's gonna be gone from Bama's sideline soon enough anyway.
This freakin thing was botched from the get go and Pruitt leaving just proves that.Lets just hope KS can overcome the incompetence and meddling from McGarity.

I'm not sure why everyone is freaking about this.
Coaches always stay with their teams until the season ends unless they are fired

Look, if Kirby is keeping Thomas Brown who supposedly got into it with Pruitt, there's no way Kirby was going to keep both. Looks like he chose T Brown over Pruitt IMO.

No they don't.It's about a 50/50 split if you look over recent hires.CMR admitted it was a mistake to stay on at FSU when he took the UGA job.

It all comes down to this. If we really want to change the culture of our football program, this is what it takes and it can't all be pretty and cheery all the time. We will lose recruits, coaches, etc.
It will be ugly at times but this is what we all wanted (at least most of us here) and needed. Kirby is our guy and we need him to do what he feels is best for this program moving forward. It does suck that our players are being left to play for a bunch of guys that won't be here next year BUT many of those same players will soon be playing for a new leader who is busting his balls right now to put our program in the best situation possible going forward and they know that. We need to embrace this change and the reality of this situation for what it is.

He has visited with each of EE's I believe, yet he still hasn't named the members of his coaching staff, which will no doubt cost us a few in this years class.

To us? Probably not much. To Bama? Who knows? Maybe he will get drunk and punch Kiffin in the face.
That's mostly sour grapes of course- that is a good get by Bama as long as Lord Saban keeps him under control.

First, Kirby has his people lined up. I promise, he's not flying by the seat of his pants on this. Just because WE haven't heard who the staff will be doesn't mean HE doesn't already have that all but locked up.
Second, if Pruitt has decided to bail on the players who WANT him to stay and coach one last time, that's his prerogative. If that's the case, it's pretty low and is indicative of the kind of person we're getting rid of. That doesn't make what Kirby is doing wrong. Kirby is handling this the right way, for all parties involved. I'm sure if Pruitt wanted to have stayed through the bowl game, he could. He's choosing, on his own, not to (and I think it's got a lot to do with point one, above, being the case).
Third, more of a question....but is Richt actually going to coach Miami in their bowl? I hadn't heard, but I'd bet there's no way Pruitt has anything to do with coaching til after Kirby is gone. That would basically mean he's taking the next two or three weeks off.

Maybe we told Pruitt to look, so we wouldn't owe him anything. In return for leaving quietly, we wouldn't spill the beans about him taking a dump in Mark's flowerbed and wiping with the Sunday paper.
After Pruitt is announced, we can announce our DC and move on.
If only someone wanted Schnotty
Just a thought.

Not sure where your numbers are from. I certainly have none and follow NFL much more, where they ALWAYS stay through the playoffs.
I get no recruiting in NFL, blah blah blah.
I just don't see the problem. I can't think of one example of a coach leaving a team in a position to play for a title.

Allbarn is playing in the Birmingham Bowl.
But I agree that they don't always stay. Typically, title contenders do stay.

They suck and are playing for nothing.
Can we not sit back and say the four team playoff is important and awwwbarn sucks balls!

I can't think of one coach who left a program for another with meaningful games remaining. Especially, title games.

Didn't Muschamp resign from AU, or he was let go or something like that? IIRC, he wasn't going to be back at Auburn no matter what happened. I don't think he was employed by Auburn when hired.

He resigned.
My point here is that, while I get KS's loyalty to Alabama and Saban, UGA pays the bills now. So Eff Bama. Get in the office and get to work.

Yeah, but think about the lucky fans who end up winning the raffle to actually coach the game...

The real question is, a year from now will this even matter? Will we look back and say, "Man if we kept Pruitt for the bowl game and told Kirby to leave Alabama right after the hire to start coaching/recruiting for UGA, we would be in the playoffs."???? I think not. Next year we will probably be about the same, lose to good-great teams as we will breaking in another new qb (unless it is Lambert ).
Even though we might finish with a worse record, I am still more excited for what next season brings than I have been in a while, while under Richt.

Nobody said that...completely absurd.
He's never been a HC before amd still has a learning curve. The sooner he starts evaluating our underclassmen the better.Once again,CMR said it was a huge mistake on his part not to quit FSU when he took the UGA job.
WTF?Bama already has his replacement anyway plus Saban is more than capable of handling the defense.KS,isn't doing UGA or Bama any favors.
