That sucks and I can't imagine being on 285 right now. They aren't gonna be going anywhere any time soon. Not to at all devalue life here but that's a mess.

They said it'd be 8 hours probably until the lanes would be reopened.

Plane left from Asheville, NC and was headed to Oxford, MS (speculating that it was refueling here)...just crazy. I was stuck in that exact location at about the same time this past Monday. Prayers to those involved

The Piper PA-32 went down on I-285 near Peachtree Industrial Boulevard after taking off from DeKalb-Peachtree Airport around 10 a.m.

Man, that is just terrible. I can't even imagine. And the son at Ole Miss will forever have this hanging over what should have been one of the happiest moments of his life.

Those pipers are supposed to be able to glide really well right? An aviator in my family said part of the certification is the instructor turns the engine off while you are flying and they make you land it. And frick that, by the way.

Jesus christ i hope that kid at ole miss has some strong people around him today. Just unimaginably awful. I wont even bring myself to try to imagine what id do in that situation
