SECr spinoff: Post an unpopular opinion that you have about UGA

I think for all the "stay home" mantras we preach in recruitng, neither the campus nor the gameday atmosphere inside the stadium does much to promote the state or the idea that Georgia is home (in the way that Louisiana or Alabama or, hell, even Tennessee does). I don't think we even really try.

Vince Dooley is overrated.
Mark Richt is the best coach UGA has ever had.

UGA doesn't have the talent or depth to contend for SEC Championships right now and won't until 2017 at the earliest.

Sort of in line with that. Sanford is a nice stadium. Nothing special and certainly not that loud for its size
We have a large group of sidewalk fans and many of them shine a poor light on the University whether they know so or not (prob not an unpopular opinion unless you are one of these people )

I'm not sure if you are joking or not, but I really do feel that way.
That said, I have to admit the change has gone well so far, and I am excited. I don't think we will lose as many recruits as I thought we would, and hopefully we might pick up 2-3 recruits we thought we had no chance at. So far.....so good.

95% or our alternate uniforms (black pants, black helmets, silver helmets) are sexy

I think everyone secretly feels that way about Dooley but is too afraid to say it until long after he has passed on.
In a similair vein, I think his statue in front of BM is enough and we don't need to name the stadium or the field after him.

The "game day experience" at Sanford sucks compared to other schools' tradations. The music, the concessions, everything but the Dawg Walk. If I never hear Baba O'Reilly again, it'll be too soon.

Our fight song sucks.

Our tailgating scene kinda sucks due to difficulty in parking. That's not to say there aren't some really good spots on campus though.

The whole "superior morality" mindset that came along with the Richt era was incredibly infuriating. Even if it was accurate, it was used way too often as an excuse for our lack of hardware.
I would prefer to get in trouble every now and then if it means winning more. Not like Penn State shite, but minor recruiting violations and the like. The squeaky clean image does nothing for me.

That that topic came from the Colin Cowherd show yesterday.

I hated the Mark Richt hire from day one.

To expand on this point, from a football perspective, UGA would be ahead to get back to a more reckless image like what existed early in the Richt era. Having a team of 85 18-22 year old males go a whole offseason without any legal hiccups in Athens is downright unhealthy and not indicative of a highly competitive football team.

Agreed. He definitely has a place in UGA lore since he was the coach that won the National Championship. He deserves an honor. But the honor has been made. Enough.

Interesting. I didn't really care for him at first, but warmed to him over the years. I went from not liking him...to liking him a little bit....to liking him and respecting him and the job he did a lot. I hate to see him go, but I like Smart right now more than I did Richt when he was first hired.

UGA's Pro Combat uniforms were badass and the hate simply stems from our team's perfomance in that game.

Now see. I LIKE the kids not getting in trouble. To me is shows character and discipline. Two things I THINK is needed to win big.
That doesn't mean I am right or you are wrong. Just my opinion and what I like.

UGA's refusal to wear black uniforms because of a game in 2008 is a chickenshit move of the highest order.

Buncha c-unts downvoting an unpopular opinion thread
Which brings up a new point. We have some sensitive and weak minded fans ( and players sometimes)
