Radi posted an exit interview with Rumph but it was on his pay site. Did anyone get to read it? A comment said something about him butting heads and he would do things differently. Just wondering what was said. I know he stayed hurt but when he was healthy I don't see how coach Ball couldn't find him some playing time

Coach Ball is a terrible receivers coach.

Not a rivals guy but from what I can gather from 247 & FSF he basically said he wasn't dedicated enough, didn't give it his best shot, kinda loafed around & didn't work hard enough on his rehab and regrets it. Blamed himself & no one else & thinks he screwed the pooch at UGA. Hopes he gets a 2nd chance in the pros...

Sounds like a Marlon Brown situation. I wish him luck.

ya he admitted he didn't give it is his best effort and that he and Ball didn't always see eye to eye. He did complain a bit about the coaches not using him at the end of the year after he played well against Kentucky though. He was very honest in the interview, good read.

Hmm. I never heard marlin brown was lazy. I heard he had some physica issues that took a long time to work out.

I don't want to speak for him, but I don't think he was saying that Marlon was lazy. But, he was plagued by injuries and never got to showcase his full talents while in Athens.

At least that my thoughts.

Yea, that's how I read it.

The sad thing is he was playing great in 2012 prior to that season ending injury vs. Ole Miss.

I still get frustrated imagining a scenario where we had him and Michael Bennett healthy for that SEC title game vs. Bama.

I hope that getting rid of Ball was the right move. Bmac will get a lot more out of the WRs IMO

I mean I'm glad that he understands that he screwed the pooch and hopefully he can learn from his mistakes, but his attitude still doesn't make any sense at all, especially the fact that he is complaining about not being used more after the Kentucky game.

Why in the hell would the coaching staff go out of their way to involve him? We were running the ball a lot and already had a solid WR trio with Conley, Bennett, and Mitchell. It blows my mind that he thinks he deserved more playing time after one game despite the fact that he basically admitted he was a turd for 90% of his time in Athens.

Marlon really struggled to learn the playbook early in his career, and by the time he finally did and started contributing he got hurt. I felt awful for the kid, but was glad to see him succeed in Baltimore.

Rumph was definitely lazy and always plagued by injury. I would have loved to see him play more because he had a crap load of talent.
