Any idea why Rocker was fired? I know there were rumors about an argument with Aubrey Solomon which she denies happened.

I know he was canned 5 months ago but curious to know the back story

if it was for missing recruits, the new guy we hired won't make it new Week 1 at the rate he is going now.

I have to think it was more than Solomon or missing recruits as he did get some in Thompson, Justin Young, Michal Carter, etc.

I feel like Rocker and Pruitt may have not gotten along either according to some. I know people have said Rocker did not enjoy the recruiting aspect of it. Rocker said in recent article that he has looked at some NFL opportunities. Pruitt and Smart were at Bama when my brother was there. They actually both lived in some nice apartments next door to him for one semester. One was unit underneath and one to the side. He said he would get home really late and hear both of them talking to recruits.

My guess is Rocker's distaste for recruiting and the ever changing minds of teenagers did not sit well with Smart.

Nothing like judging a coaches recruiting before the players he's recruiting are even playing as seniors.

Rocker's temper screwed the pooch with several high profile recruits. He represents the head coach. And killing future recruiting (the families have younger cousins, siblings, and influence to kids/coaches at their high profile high schools) makes the head coaches job tougher.

He had to go. Too old school for the current crop of 16/17/18 year olds.
(As far as I know, the players who bought in love him... but if/when a player crosses him, Rocker puts out the flame with gasoline).
