I hate to admit it but the reality is that Eason is probably wishing he went somewhere else and Chubb is, without a doubt, wishing he went to the NFL last year.

I didn't expect lightening in a bottle on Smart's first year but Chaney was a bust (who didn't see that one from the start) and our O-line is a complete disaster. We have no play-makers on the D-line who pose a realistic threat to the opposition's back-field and our receiving core is sub-par at best.

More HARD reality, we probably lose to Kentucky, most likely Auburn and maybe even Tech. I would LOVE to wrong on that but The biggest concern I have is, how much will recruiting suffer? I am for Smart, I love the DAWGS and will bleed red and black until I die.. just speaking what I see. Hopefully we can pull in the needed personnel and right the ship before next year.

How would that work exactly?

I see these things to but I also remember CKS stated many of these things after taking over. Add that with what we've heard regarding player revolt and this is what you get. The O-line is terrible.

The reality is we do not have a very good team this year. We have been here before under Richt in 2009, 2010 and 2013. Sure, it's all on the HC since he recruits the players and hires the assistants who coach the players. But Smart as a first year HC, obviously didn't recruit these players. Sometimes your combination of players, your team, is just not very good compared to the teams you play against. Put simply, I'm pretty sure if hypothetically we had hired Nick Saban as our new HC, his record with this team would not have been much if any better than how we will finish under Smart. We simply have too many weaknesses in key areas.

I too wonder about what's going through the mind a 4 or 5 star kid that sees Georgia's problems.
One thought is they know they can play immediately. The other thought is do they want to play for a 7-5 or 8-3 team for 3 years them move on to the NFL when they can go to Alabama or LSU or Ole Miss or Auburn and have hopes of actually competing for something.

Perhaps your most insipid statement ever and it's a long list.

Huh?in '09 we finsished 8-5 and beat the 7th ranked team in the country and won
our bowl game by 20+ points...way below par for sure but not close to this abortion.
In'13 we beat the #5 and #12 ranked teams before RB's and WR's we wiped out.
That team is not CLOSE to this shite show.

Yea keep hanging yer hat on '10...it's all you got.

Who in general has been a true sophomore with an season ending injury and declared for the draft. Or better yet, what true sophomores have declared for the draft?

Outstanding defense of your statement about the '09 and '13 teams.

Georgia was a really good team with a great offense in 2013.

Despite a ridiculous number of injuries, Georgia posted wins over strong South Carolina and LSU teams and beat UT in Knoxville and came back from 20 points down with a back-up qb to win over Tech.

That was a good year and an exciting team to watch.

Both teams had 5 losses though granted both were probably better than our current team which will be lucky to become bowl eligible this season. But I guess if 5 losses is an acceptable standard for a good team then those were good teams. And yes, I am well aware of our ongoing pattern of devastating injuries but the team you are able put on the field is all that matters in a given contest.

And yet, Kirby Smart is not playing with his players and gets a pass?

Do you REALLY think we lost THAT much talent last year? Honestly?

Lost our best OL, WR, and our 2 best defenders. That's big when you can't replace them.

Except (I haven't checked this lately) we have a WR on pace to match the WR we lost and added ridley who may be our best WR on the team. He's been hurt until the last couple of games, though.

Our two pass rushers are bad, you are right. But not to the extent we are seeing. It's just plain silly for people to continue to point fingers at Mark Richt for what we are seeing.

To that note...I have been saying that I was actually encouraged by yesterday. I thought we showed improvement. Had we played as well as we did yesterday, I think we would have blown Nicholls, Missouri, and South Carolina out and I think we would have beaten Vanderbilt.

ETA
It boggles the mind. Last year Theus was horrible, didn't live up to expectations and was a complete bust. This year he was our best OL.

How freaking dense can you be. How can we NOT blame him for the Srs, Jrs and Sophmores on this roster. Those are his recruits. Smart had December and January to recruit last year and flipped some players.

Has this year been good, no but damn, quit defending Richt's failure to recruit and Coach up the players he had under his command up until last November.
