JTIII started the season at QB and Cox got a start that year, too, after JTIII was injured. Stafford started because he had to, but it wasn't really until the midway point that he was finally handed the reigns. I think Eason would have to come in and really give them no choice but to play him. And I hope that happens, because Lambert is not a D-1 talent.

Lambert's stats aren't as terrible as most think.

Thanks to USCe and Southern having horrible schemes/talent and Vandy and Mizzou dropping a combined 5 interceptions.

Lambert would keep playing. We have him next season too.

And Alabama and Missouri having 2 of the best defenses in the conference. Dropped interceptions are like dropped passes. They don't count.

And against Bama, Mizzou, and UT Lambert looked like shite. As far as the "dropped interceptions don't count" argument, that is correct, at least stat-wise, but it shows an absolute lack of accuracy and/or decision making abilities. Lambert doesn't have it. He never will.

Yea, that pass Reggie Davis dropped was really a terrible throw. He has looked bad at times but so do all QBs. Just look at some of the others in the conference. Kyle Allen 3 pick sixes sat. He's been working with these guys all of what 4 months.

Nope. Lambert will start every game this year unless he gets hurt. Ramsey might get a token snap or two each game, but the coaches have hitched their wagons to Lambert. I also expect Ramsey and Bauta to transfer after the season is completed.

If Lambert starts next year so that we can redshirt Eason, I honestly believe that we might not be bowl eligible at the end of the season.

Agree with the wagon hitching, but it's possible lambert can improve, especially by next year.

problem with this statement is that he's regressed as the season has gone on.

Most folks regress from perfection that comes vs easy competition. Doesn't mean he is the worst qb ever.

He had to due to the quality of play. Everyone knew it was coming, just a matter of time. The cupboard was bare.

It is more bare now than it was then. If I were AD and richtie said he was redshirting Eason after this display at QB, I would fire him on the spot.

Recall, that this is the staff that projected a Heisman Trophy and National Championship and a NFL No 1 overall draft pick QB as a tight end.

A fricking tight end!!!!!!!!!

That is what we are dealing with here.

It was much more bare in 2006. Some of yall are exaggerating how bad our qb is. Both will play next year and Eason will take over as soon as he needs to.

How so? He looked really good against weak competition and then he looked worse against much better competition in the middle of the schedule. I don't see improvement yet but I don't see regression, either.

But again...the guy began in a new system shortly before the season. He's probably having to un-learn some bad habits.

And if he's not as good as advertised? Aren't we pretty much beyond bare at that point?

Yes, we would be, but hopefully we dont need him to take over next year like we needed Stafford to in 2006.

If Bauta hasn't played at this point then I seriously doubt he will against Florida.

Agree, MR is very stubborn to change. I was on the Ramsey bus at first but he is a damn pick machine. If I remember correctly his first throw in the Bama game was a pick 6! I would love to see Bauta come in as a short throw and running/option duel threat. Hell, Muschimp did it to us last year but I doubt that would happen. Bauta could get the running game going!
