Griffin is 40 miles from Atlanta. Not even part of the South Metro area in my opinion.

Calhoun will be bumped up to AAA soon. They are the 2nd biggest AA school, so it's probably gonna happen next realignment.

That was us. We scored a quick TD on a long pass on the first play of the game my junior year. They then scored 56 unanswered.

Also, you don't have to live in the Buford district to attend the school. You can "pay" a fee to attend, I think it's something like $2K. However, I'm sure they're offering "scholarships" to players to build up their talent.
Also regarding Gwinnett county high schools, they average around 3300-3500 students in each school. If you look at the top 10 high schools in regards to student enrollment, eight of them are from Gwinnett County. They have a much bigger talent pool from which to draw.
And the DeKalb County schools, Tucker and Stephenson in particular, talented kids move into those areas specifically to play football because of their programs' reputations.

That's how a lot if not all city schools are. Why do you think Buford, Calhoun and Gainesville are so good year in year out? They recruit.

I think Gwinnett has a population of roughly 900,000 people. I'd say Buford had a fairly sizable advantage competing in A,AA,and AAA. I watched them play Johnson Co (pop 8700) 10 or 11 yrs ago in A. I think Johnson Co had 53 in that graduating class.
