Someone asked me what were the most heavily recruited(football) highschools around da ATL. What are some of the top programs year after year? I had no idea as I only really follow Camden, Lowndes and Valdosta down this way.

What say you?

Buford has been running a train on high schools in Georgia for about 10 years running. They should make them a 5A school and force them to play other schools that recruit as well as they do.

They are obviously a great program, but they don't have many players that have worked out on the college level

ETA- to answer the OP, there are a lot of heavily recruited ATL high schools. Stephenson, Tucker, MLK, all the Gwinnett and Cobb schools, Buford, Grayson, Sandy Creek, etc.

Are you talking actual Atlanta, or the surrounding metro area as well?

If metro, there are many teams in Gwinnett that are always good.

A few years back my high school gave them all they could handle in 2A. Buford was on a run of about 4 straight titles at the time and had it not been for some untimely turnovers we win the game. They beat us like 36-28 but they never really stopped the offense however we couldn't stop them either. They ended up winning state again and then got bumped up to AAA. My highschool team is now becoming mediocre again.

Since I was in HS and a little before that off the top of my head they've had:

A QB who started for Oregon for like a minute
A starting RB for ND
A GT LB (not sure how much time pridemore got)
UGA WR/PR
UGA current starting T, past starting G
Starting DL for UF
Air Force starting RB who killed it (fast little fricker he was)

That's all off the top of my head and I know I am missing a few. But, hey, not bad for what was a AA now AAA or w/e they are. Simpson and his program are bunch a damn cheaters but boy are they good at it.

GWINNETT IS GREAT

You know, PRHS for being a young school and program has produced some really studly talent.

Sandy Creek and Griffin are usually pretty good. Carrollton and Calhoun, too. Lovejoy has been good last 3-4 years.

Good program but outside of a few WRs, the best 8th string QB ever and their train horn what have they really produced?

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Always thought we'd play Fitzgerald but yall were always on Buford's side of the bracket.

Generally teams in the AA bracket served as a speed bump for Buford. Letting them stay in in AA as long as they did was a dick move

I'm just saying relative to where their players are ranked. Every year they have a ton of 4* and 3* guys, most of whom you never hear from again. Personally, I think they have such a good program that their players are already close to their ceiling when they get to college.

We need a pig skin round up on high school ball this year from somebody.... The Corkey Kell Classic is right around the corner.

You DID mention WR's, so I am guessing you remembe that Kris Durham came from there....and I would think they are pretty heavily recruited considering their success. They were awful when I was in HS, though.

Our team that year takes the title if not for Buford. That was the best team we had ever had and no one could stop us. We were undefeated and gave Buford a great fight.

Here is the press clipping from that game.

True story, I wanna pay better attention to that this year. Maybe even go to a game and check out (hand out checks) some Abernathy/Slayton

Guess a lot of that is because Buford goes so much further than other HSs in development, nutrition, steroids, and shite. So I could see that being right. Basically other teams have rawer talent.

Good point, crow.

Durham was Buford? For some reason I thought he was one of those Weslyan losers.
