ATHENS, Ga. -- Georgia's quarterback plan will be "very similar" to what it was last week according to Kirby Smart, who spoke to reporters at media day on Monday. Jacob Eason and Greyson Lambert both played against North Carolina and Smart indicated that both are in line for snaps against Nicholls on Saturday.

“There is no plan right now,” Smart said. “Right now we'll assess the tape. We'll make another decision. I'm sure all you guys will want to know who's going to start the next game, and we'll start it all over again. Maybe you'll know by Thursday, maybe you'll know by Wednesday; who knows. We've got to figure all that out. I don't want to jump to any conclusion.”

Meh. I'd expect each QB to at least get a quarter on Saturday, if not more

If there's any game to have a tryout for first string, it's this weekend. Keep it vanilla enough but find out who wants to play QB against Mizzou.

Also would give Chubb a half load or so

There ain't no tryout. They are preparing Eason to start and when he's ready, he will. All this weekend will tell us is how far away that is from happening.

I don't know. Not sure we'll learn a whole lot about our QBs playing Nicholls State. You learn about them against decent teams - like UNC.

The simple fact is, remaining healthy, Eason will play some role in every game we play this year. It's upto him to decide how much Lambert plays going forward.

I expect Lambert to start and basically play the 1st quarter, maybe the first drive of the 2nd quarter, too. Eason comes in during the 2nd and 3rd. Ramsey cleans up in the 4th.

So long as Lambert doesn't play much better than Eason, then the following week going to Mizzou, Eason gets the start. I would imagine he plays every snap unless he struggles really bad.

Mizzou might see Lambert open the game, then Eason in the 2nd quarter. Keep the defense off balance a little. Until we face a tough opponent (Ole Miss), keep giving Lambert some action so he will be sharp if needed.
But, would you rather have Lambert come in to play catch up if we get behind?

I think you can still learn a lot. Play calling, reads, audibles, check downs, clock management.

THats more of what I was thinking. If Eason can manage the offense, make plays, and limit mistakes we can trust him in conference play

So, we'll be going in with a half Chubb? That might chafe.

Epic Uncle Lou melt down about Lambert starting this weekend against Nichols State! I think he has some good points!

"We would beat Nicholls State with Joe Cox at QB."

He's a freaking idiot, not necessarily all his points, just how he does his videos. They are funny sometimes, but also embarrassing at others. I know that's his thing though.

I really don't nd restate GL, playing this week, along with Chubb or Sony if they do. I would hope our inexperienced depth is still good enough. Hopefully NC comes out gets 100 quick, and then sits. GL maybe leads 2 series and then is more GA the rest of the game.

Hopefully Eason and the young guns can light it up quick and give Ramsey a chance to play, maybe the whole 4th. His effort and patience alone has has earned that.

Eason and the WR need as many reps as possible before Ole Miss. Lambert needs only a brief presence. Ramsey can punt if he needs to play. We need our balance before our big games coming up quickly.
