"I think anything is possible," Richt said. "I'm not going to sit here and start trying to tell the whole world what we're going to do before we even talk to our players about how we're going to rotate things like that. But that's been done before. There's always a possibility of something like that."

Richt didn't specify whether that additional quarterback would be Brice Ramsey or Faton Bauta. Redshirt freshman Ramsey has been first off the sideline behind Mason the past two games, but the more mobile Bauta specializes in the zone-read style of offense that Georgia did run at times in Saturday's 35-32 win over Tennessee.

why the hell not?...use all of them...whatever puts points on the board...you wanna drive a DC crazy?...make him have to plan for three different qb's....as long as the rest of the O can work with the changes and differences in dynamic that comes with each guy...fricking do it...whatever it takes to get to Atlanta...

I think if we see anyone else it would be Bauta in some spread-type formations. I'm sure the coaches are going to stick with Mason through thick and thicker. Richt is faithful if nothing else.

I agree. More Bauta is a good thing though as it gives the defenses something else to account for.

I think it's going to improve, and I think that we'll make the right decisions on the personnel," Richt told one caller. "There's a lot of people that have opinions on that, and I respect them. But we watch practice every day. We're in the meetings every day. We know what's going on on a daily basis. I've been coaching quarterbacks for 30 years, and Bobo has been coaching them for a good long bit as well. Not to say we're perfect by any means, but we're doing we think is in the best interest of Georgia, and we'll continue to do that."

I wanted Bautadozer packages before the season started. Now I want them even more.

Some other teams going the freshman route. Let's at least try some rotation

LSU - Harris starting vs AU this weekend
Clemson - Watson

While I like this idea...Richt would be the last coach in the world to do anything like this.

The Bauta zone read with Gurley would frick some shite up.

I have no doubt they played the guy who they thought was best, and my guess is that both Richt and Bobo are surprised and disappointed in how Mason has performed in games. People, including coaches, have trouble admitting they made a mistake. I hope our coaches are willing to seriously consider that possibility.

That tells me that things will continue as they are. He is doing well in practice, but one tends to forget that he goes against our not so worldbeaters - but learning - DBs.

We saw a few zone reads on Saturday. If the offense is setting up to bring in a change of pace guy, it's going to be Bauta. Which I think is a fantastic idea. So much flexibility with him.

They'll play the guy that gives them the best chance to win. Anyone that thinks they won't, is kidding themselves. They've done it before and they'll do it again if they think it's necessary.

I think you have to let him throw the ball some to be effective, though. If you don't, you might as well stick one of the RBs back there.

I don't think most people have a personal issue with Mason. I just don't want us to become so one dimensional we are not productive with weapons sitting on the bench. I know he can do it (and does in practice. I hope Mason steps up!

Either way, we are one running back down. Some zone read with Batau and Chubb (whilst Gurley gets a blow) would be another way to wear down defenses.

Whats the word on rowk? Heard he was banged up a bit. If marshall and ps1 are in recovery itd be nice to see him bowl over a few folks.

I'm not saying they won't. I'm saying that people, including coaches, sometimes ignore the facts that disagree with their opinions. We don't like to admit we were wrong, especially to ourselves. So we rationalize away evidence contrary to our opinion.

No matter what has happened in practice, our pass offense is not very effective under Mason. I hope Bobo and Richt at least start giving Bauta/Ramsey a chance to perform under meaningful game conditions. That's tough for them to do, because it possibly opens them up to criticism that they played the wrong guy.

I would be shocked if Richt plays anyone more than Mason. Bauta in for a play or two? Sure, but no way they split duties.

Richt is loyal to a fault and I have a feeling that he thinks Mason is owed this position after waiting patiently. Richt isn't going to take that from him unless it really hits the fan.

the reason for that is because the backups are CLEARLY better than the former starters. We dont' have that situation here.
