It’s hilarious how ridiculous some ppl are.

Viruses mutate - it’s what they do and what they’ve been doing since the dawn of time. Hell, a decent amount of our dna are from them.

Eventually people will realize, even if you politicize the hell out of it, you can’t make this magically go away.

The sooner we live with that fact, the sooner people will move on with their lives.

The whole vaccinated vs unvaccinated dog and pony show is already boring. I got vaccinated because of the health issues in my family and I also got Covid.

Time to start treating this like the flu and get rid of these ridiculous protocols and mandates.

Are they doing these tests with rapid result antigen kits or the PCR tests that go off to a lab? The rapid tests have a high false positive rate. Hope they aren't using those. You can have false positives from PCR also, but less likely.

Can't imagine they wouldn't retest any of these players that get a single positive result.

Pickens had a 2nd negative test. He is out of protocol and is good to go.

Great news!

Due to my wife's employment situation, she has to take them regularly (despite being triple vaxed). She's never had a positive. If the false positives are that high, she'd have had one by now, statistically speaking.

would send my entire team to Athens General (or whatever it's called now) for monoclonal infusion immediately. Then isolate everyone from the world mic everyone up for practice and do walk-throughs of every play with masks and gloves on.

Biggest issue is these guys going home for Christmas.God knows how many positives they come back with and possibly spread.

Peoples body chemistry is different, just like some people are more prone to infection or pnuemonia, people may also be prone to false positive. Not to mention the dofference in the testing devices and procedures.

I would think the rapids have a really low false positive rate. There's no amplification process....it's an antigen test.

At this point I feel like the mRNA vaccines are like pissing in the wind for new variants. You're going to get it if you get your face coughed in. On the plus side, you probably won't even know you had anything.

No joke, I’m in my 50’s and in decent shape - at best. They gave me an infusion the first time I had COVID and I walked 8 miles the next day. I felt like I had been shot out of a canon. Don’t know if it was mental or physical or a combination of both, but I felt the best I’ve felt in years.

I was remembering that the issue with false positives for the rapid tests have to do with inexperienced users not following the directions properly. But yeah, I stand corrected. False positives should not be much of an issue with those. False negatives are the big problem. Didn't realize that some of the rapid tests can actually give you a negative (incorrectly) up to 50% of the time. Apparently even the best one out only accurately identifies those with COVID about 60% of the time.

If that's the situation, I hope teams are using lab (PCR) tests. If you use the rapid tests with players, you would run the risk of missing somebody who actually has it and could spread it.
