SOS is great, but you have to reapply it often. Thermacell is the ticket. Great for misquitoes, but ok with gnats too. As long as you are not moving and outrunning the fumes. Best bet it find a breeze or stay inside.

I wonder if a mosquito truck driver has ever lived more than ten years beyond the first day of starting that job..
I remember being a kid and running around at night out playing during the summer and getting ambushed by the mosquito truck....and feeling sick all night like I'd been sprayed with mustard gas.

Not as sick as you'd feel with yellow fever.
I built the home made one with a ginger ale bottle and some champagne yeast (red star) for extra CO2 emission. It's only been out a few hours, no skeeters in it yet, but plenty of fireants.
