Not good... whether you’re an IPA fan or not... it’s got an awful aftertaste. Most beer connoisseurs would agree. They tried to be Sierra but came up short.

Could you be more specific as Terrapin has a lot of IPA's?

I don’t like IPAs at all so that biases me. But I agree, their beer doesn’t agree with my palate at all. I ended up throwing out 5 of a 6 pack several years ago and vowed never to buy it again.

If you are referring to the Hopsecutioner I agree. I love IPAs, they are what I drink 75% of the time, but that stuff is bad.

Hopsecutioner does suck. Bartenders I have talked to say they sell the shite out of it, so Terrapin keeps making it.

Same here except for one: Creature Comforts Tropicalia! Maybe because I like grapefruit and it has a sort of Texas Red River grapefruit note/finish that I like.
Their Classic City Lager is great too.

Hopsecutioner probably sells because it has a testosteroni name and a fairly high alcohol content. That said...it’s a fricking awful beer.

I’m not a huge fan of IPA’s in the first place, but that one is superlative in its awfulness.

I agree... there was new beer being revealed last night... obviously it’s not new and been around, but decided to have a glass while we waited on the new brands... terrible idea. I still have an aftertaste it seems.

Krunkles, Hi-Five and Galaxy are all solid.
Hopsecutuoner is a bad IPA

KBS, Goose Island, New Belgium, and anything Gnarly Barley makes. Love Bourbon Casked Stouts as well.

If I recall it was the first local, supper hoppy, high ABV to hit athens. I drank it a lot just because of its 8.3 ABV. Terrible hangovers though.

I agree. The only thing they do well are stouts.

I know this is blasphemy being a local. But between Creature, Akademia and Terrapin from a local craft beer.

Give me
1. Creature
2. Akademia
3. Terrapin.

I am not a hoppy beer guy so maybe their IPA's are great but not to my taste, but I am more a Pilsner or (Yes make fun) a Wit Beir type. Like Athena...

That isn't blasphemy, I think that is what anyone who has had all 3 would say.

I do like their Galaxy IPA. I recently discovered another IPA that may be the best I’ve had, out of LaGrange of all places

That Alpha Abstraction is no joke- definitely one of the best new beers I’ve had in the last year or so.

Oops, accidentally downvoted meant to upvote. But yeah, great stuff hate I didn’t discover the Alpha for volumes 1-4.
