Gonna be stuck there next week. Anyone have any insight on what to do there? Searching online gives me nothing (kinda expected).

All I got for you is visit the Dayton Aviation Heritage NHP on South William St.

Or go to a Flyers game.

I lived in Dayton for 4 years.
Definitely do the Air Force Museum at Wright Pat AFB. It's incredible and I'm not into aviation or military history to speak of. If you're looking for a good burger and beer - look up "Tanks"- it's local and authentic. There is some good Vietnamese food in Dayton - Specifically a joint called "Lin's". It's terrific. Downtown Dayton is pretty dead, though there's a strip of bars and restaurants called "Oregon District". I imagine it's changed a lot since I left in 2008 - but it always had some okay places. There's also a faux downtown called the "Greene" - it's manufactured but has the feel of a downtown. That's all I can really think of at the moment. There are a lot of regional chains you only find in that part of the country like "Quaker Steak", "Skyline Chile", "Frickers", etc. Have fun?

Thanks for the suggestions, I seen reviews for Frickers and they were bad. It's real close to the area I'll be staying. I may check out Tanks.

I'm in cincinnati. Frickers food sucks but solid sports bar if you need a place to go for drinks. Great TVs. I think skyline sucks as well but what do I know. Wendy's chili is better to me

Dayton is a shithole. It has downtown bars like anywhere else but not much else in that city.

Lol, my buddy went to training camps in Dayton and said it was the biggest piece of shot city he's ever seen. Meanwhile, i spoke with a Dayton alum and she said it was the awesomest university ever. Fricking Ohioans.

Dayton is probably the second worst city in the country, only behind Akron. Its a huge shite hole. Get shots before you cross the state line.

Akron is nowhere near as shitty as Dayton. Canton and Youngstown on the other hand.....

I have lived in Ohio for 10 years and can confidently say most of the bigger cities in this state are shitholes. Columbus is the only one that is experiencing any sort of growth, although downtown Cleveland has gotten MUCH nicer than it was. Dan Gilbert pumped a ton of money into pushing the ghetto out of downtown and now it's all in East Cleveland and Euclid.

Dayton may be a decent school (it's private), but the city is far from it.
