Did your Mom get mad and make you move to LA?
I will have to check out the Nowhere Bar next time to see if it brings back memories. I mostly remember the big game on the end. I forget what its called, but its like hand shuffleboard with the pucks and the sawdust.

Don't forget Club Fred under Fred di Toronto's. So long as your parents didn't push you in in a stroller, you'd get served.

It really just ends up being where someone in your pledge class works. I'm sure that changes/cycles every now and then.
My buddy in beta had pledge class bros at generals and bourbon so we went there a little, same thing with flanagans and pi kapp. My roommate worked at some place that's already shut down so we went there a lot. This could go on and on and everyone has these spots. And then once you are drunk enough on cheap/free shite, you end up going a little bit of everywhere.
I wasn't in a fraternity at all and the three bars I probably spent the most time throughout my 4 years were bourbon, sandbar, and boars head.

Remember working out at Omallys.
After intramural softball, always knocked back a few pitchers at Steverinos with the team - good times. Over the hump at Georgia Bar. Friday's The Globe. And chicken strips from Guthries.

And the resulting brown spray paint. The food was good, but it probably did lasting damage.
Yudy's cheesesteaks, on the other hand, equally tasty, much less gastric distress.

Guthries never made me sick. Always good.
Yudy's was my favorite.
Someone should reserrect the Guthries franchise in athens.

I was in Foley, AL last week and ate at Guthries. It was good, but didn't taste as good as it did when hung over with whore juice on your hands.

If you started a Guthries in Athens you'd get sued by Zaxbys. Irony.

Oh, I went there in 1984/1985.
I was enjoying Long Island Tea Night with my friends.
The restrooms were located upstairs. The stairway consisted of rickety old wooden steps. After taking a leak, I slipped and fell all the way down the stairs and landed on my back.
The bouncer, a big bodybuilder type, grabbed me by the arm and said he was going to throw me out for being too drunk.
I went along with him, then broke free and escaped back to my friends.
I suffered a rare blackout later that night and couldn't remember going to bed.

Just guessing....There only so many ways to spin chicken fingers, krinkle fries and Texas toast. I didn't know Guthries was a franchise. I thought the original in Athens was the only one.

Stipe and his crew lived across the street from there. Did you end up with them?

fun trivia: at one point circa 2009ish Brantley Gilbert actually lived in that (old omallys) building.

In the late 90's it was Dial America where all the college kids could go make $10/hr (unheard of at the time) selling magazine subscriptions (people used to subscribe to these things before the internet).

It was Dial America in the mid 2000s as well. I lived in RiverMill for 3 years and several people in the complex worked there.

Could also work for Globe Security, too. They were always hiring

Somebody opened one in Danielsville, of all places, a few years ago. It gone.
Coincidentally, Raising Cane's (which is located where the old Baxter Guthries was) is an almost perfect duplicate of what Guthries was, in terms of food anyway. It's good.

I lived in the old Village apartments where I could walk through some woods and a cemetery to campus.
I don't know Stipe.
I don't count 1984/1985 as a year in my life. It was totally and literally wasted.
