Well by college level it's a moot point today, mostly.
I think the 2 point try is much more exciting win or lose.

Why not move the PAT out 20 yards from where it is now and just make it a bit more challenging? Move it to the left or right hashmark depending on which side of the field you're on? Make the kicker use his non-dominant foot?

NFL proves every year what a bunch of idiots they are...one day soon we won't be able to recognize the pro sport...
college gets it right for the most part..overtime rules have created some instant classics...starting on the 25 yd line after a touchback makes the game safer...

Agree. Remove the extra point and the 2 point conversion becomes meaningless in terms of risk because then there will be no choice.

I saw a proposal where you get 7 points for a touchdown and then can opt to go for an extra point at the risk of losing one and going back to 6.
Seems stupid...why change it? If they are trying to speed up the game, don't take a commercial before AND after every single kickoff.

They should make it similar to flag football, go for 1 point from the 5, 2 from the 10, 3 from the 20 or just have 1 and 2 points. The only way to keep the extra point is to make it a more challenging kick, so make it a 30 yard field goal to make it a little harder.
