Tennessee just lost a first round tackle.

Could be wrong, but I think tackle is the most important position in the game. Teams seem to dropoff following a quality loss at the position.

Matthews a great pick even though he fell into TDs lap. Reminds me of Kenn. Plug him in and forget it. Protect Ryan has to be the top priority, he goes down, and well.........................

Really pleased TD did not trade up for Clowney and rape the rest of 14 and 15 draft ala Jones. Clowney may be great but maybe a bust, wise to pass at the price. Houston is a good spot for him with hotrod on the other end.

You're telling me Dixon cant get it done....

But, yes I wanted this pick. I thought this was more important than defense

I wouldn't be upset if in the 2nd round the Falcons took Cyrus K from Bama to play RT. That's your bookends for the next decade.

It kills me to see Clowney validated by going #1 overall. Such a bust in the making.

I like Ealy but I've seen Trent Murphy mocked to us.

Joyner? Yeah.

I think you go pass rusher first, then safety, just due to value of the position. That run on safeties at the end of the 1st, though, got me nervous.

I really didn't do too much research on safeties for this draft. Got no idea who to pick.

Listening to those in the know, it sounds like that'll be the pick...

Agree with this. Ryan with enough time = good things happen for the Falcons.

Fsu has 2 safeties in draft, one is ranked much hugher than the other.

We need to think about needs vs wants.

Osi isnt horrible. We missed on clowney and ford.

We want a better pass rush.

We need a safety.

Several unnamed scouts take on Ealy...hmmmm....

quote:

"I think he could grow into a five-technique," said one scout. "I see him as a rush guy like Paul Kruger was in Baltimore. Where 80, 90% of the time he's rushing. He could do that and eventually grow into a D-end." The 4-3 teams view him as a base end.

"I question his fire," another scout said. "If you got the right kind of coaching and put a boot into him, he might be a very good player. Whenever something doesn't work he just shuts her down. He's just kind of out of control. He gets washed out, then he'll make a big-time play." Finished with 93 tackles (27½ for loss) and 14 sacks. Wonderlic of 10.

"He thinks he's already an Aldon Smith-type player," a third scout said. "Classic con man. I don't trust this kid. He will be just a big pain in the (expletive). He's one of those 'let somebody else draft him' guys."

Added a fourth scout: "There's no outstanding traits about him other than he gives you some versatility in a bad (defensive-line) draft. He's a mess. Somebody's going to draft him because they need a defensive end and overdraft him."

Falcons should take Tuitt. I'm surprisingly fine with the Broncos taking Roby, would love Christian Jones at ILB in the 2nd.
