It's been years (7 to be exact) since I've been back for a game and that's going to end this season. I'll be there this season as we kick Tech's arse in Sanford. I grew up going with my parents to games, but my father dropped his tickets several years ago when his RA got too bad for him to really enjoy going to games anymore. Some of my happiest memories were receiving our tickets in the mail every August. I want that to experience that again.

I'm going to try and purchase season tickets for next year (2015) this go-round. Basically, I have no clue what will guarantee me seats for the season? I currently give $0 to the Hartman fund and give to the university instead. If I cut some of my giving to the university, what amount will guarantee me tickets? What seemed to be the point cut-off this year? Somewhere around $2k would be be my cut-off. I'd prefer less, obviously, because I don't want to diminish my academic giving that much.

I feel your pain. It's been a few years for me as well.

Going to Athens with my father on a Saturday were some of the greatest times of my life. His health has really deteriorated over the years and I know he will never make it back to see his Alma Mater.

My wife and son are not football fans. My wife had surgery for Melanoma in her leg a few years ago and has lymphedema so all the walking that would be involved is a deterrent to taking her. Anyway just feeling sorry for myself.

The Hartman Fund cut-off point for new season tix for 2014 was $1001.00. If we have a very good year I'd imagine it'll go up for '15...

Not trying bring the bad juju to the board lol!

I'm blessed though in many ways! My wife is going on 3 years of being cancer free. My father was bed ridden from a stroke back in January and now he can walk with a walker and talk again. Just had a temporary pity party.

Man, that really sucks. I'm lucky that my wife enjoys football and I've just been too busy to make it back for a game. Next year, I do plan on taking my dad to one of the games as a way of saying thanks. He might not be able to sit through the whole game, but I know he'd love to go back.

Awesome, thanks buddy. I might bump up to the $2500 level so I can potentially get a parking pass one day.

Since you said he'll more than likely attend GT it's probably a good thing he's not a big CFB fan...

j/k... Good Luck to the boy...

If you do $2500 a year you'll get a PP pretty soon.

Actually the $1001 for '14 was a one time minimum to get your foot in the door. After that the minimum annual donation can be as low as $250 & up depending on location. Mine are $325 per seat...

Damn, that's not nearly as bad as I was expecting. Still, I hate most game day parking. I guess I could purchase a spot elsewhere.

One nice thing about Columbia is the tailgating communities like The University House and Cocks Corner, were you literally purchase the land you park in and then pay yearly dues, but it's fenced off and members only so you're guaranteed your spot.

Yep, you pay more than the minimum 250 per seat if you want to upgrade and move your seats. Otherwise you can simply pay the $250. I truly expect us to have a good year though and that $1001 may double. hopefully not to 2008 levels but that's the price of having a top program. I wish I had paid it this year.

ETA: Just looked it up, 2008 cutoff for new tix was 10,651 points!

Hahaha! Glad you saw that on the other thread about Tech. Little joker is a computer nerd genius so he probably will fit in well there. I love him but we are complete opposites in many ways. Butt heads a bunch.

Prestiege Parking has most of the lots downtown that sell season passes. I've parked at the BB&T Bank lot that they manage for the last 15 years. It's at the corner of Broad & N. Thomas, across Thomas from the ABH building & is a 10min. walk down S. Thomas to the stadium. A season pass for this year is $280 for 7 games.

The cut off is 500 a ticket. So you should be good to go.

if that is true, I have a hard time seeing it go up over $1,500 and probably not more than $1,250

Does that sound right? I mean, even if we win a natty, mire than a $500 increase seem unlikely

is that grand to get your foot in the door for tickets, or is it per ticket?

after that, you pay $250 per ticket PLUS face value - right?

Each year you have a minimum amount you must donate to the Hartman fund to keep your tickets, $1 = 1 point. In '14 to get season tickets as a "new" donor the contribution cut-off (i.e. when season tix for new donors were all sold) was $1001. If you had only sent in a $1000 donation you were outta luck for '14 but you now have 1000 points. Anything you donate in '15 will be added to your current total. Your cumulative "points" are used to assign seating priority when better seats are available & to decide who gets away game tix...

Most new donors get seats in the east EZ lower & upper. The minimum donation "AFTER" you accumulate enough points(mentioned above)to get renewable season tickets in each following year is currently $250 per seat + $280 (7 games @ $40) per ticket..
