No doubt you can be a good person and not be a believer in a particular religion.

Fine by me. Not like his offense at Michigan set the world on fire anyways.

I'm with VA. They can have Nuss. It'd be an ok hire at best.

Michigan offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier is expected to be named to the same position at Florida per a source. LINK

We need more pagans so they can work on Sunday, Easter and around Christmas.

Not trying to get into a religious debate but when people use the "he's a good christian man" reason for wanting a coach, it is frustrating because that shouldn't even remotely be a qualification for coaching.

Why not?

What if the Falcons or Arkansas had hired "a good Christian man" instead of Bobby Petrino? WOuld they have been better off?

If the "good christian man" wasn't a good coach, then no they wouldn't have been better off.

In fact, Petrino's scumbaggishness led to the Mike Smith era (whatever that means now, who knows) which was the first period of sustained success for the Falcons in their history with 1st back-to-back winning seasons.

Hail Petrino! Hail Satan!

I wonder if uga would throw down enough money to pull Cristobal and Napier. The more I think about it the more I like it. Napier, Cristobal, Pruitt, and Bmac recruiting. Holy shite.

He quit on one program and wrecked another one right before the season started.....

"A good Christian man" wouldn't have done either of those things.

That's important to some people.

Neither would a good person with self respect. By saying I don't care if a coach is a christian it's not like I meant I want some douchebag that's gonna burn the program to the ground. Just saying that as long as they're a good person, I'm fine with it. Their choice of what religion, if any, to believe in is none of my business and doesn't affect me in the least.

I remember a poll this season that asked all the coaches which Head Coach they'd want their own son to play for...........and Stoops and Richt got the most votes.

I would say many voted for Richt because he is "a good Christian man".

And that doesn't mean that most coaches want Richt to turn their kid into a devout Christian. It just means that being "a good Christian man" means that he is benevolent and honest and has integrity, honor, dignity, discipline, etc.
