What are your thoughts on the offense after year two under Monken?

Despite the injuries, it seems like the offense is running pretty efficiently, and appears to be improving every week. Everyone is (rightly) talking about the defense, but can UGA's offense be good enough to win a national championship? Curious what the board thinks.

Elite defense, with an above average to decent offense...so far.

Be nice if we had all our offensive weapons to see what we could really do.

Crazy to think we have had no Pickens, Blaylock, Rosemy, Smith and Washington and still doing what we are doing on Offense.

Are we watching the same offense? Especially when JTD is in there.

I love the offense when we have JT out there.

First time in a long time that I don't wince when I see it's a pass play.

With our limited roster, I think we are holding up well so far.
Fingers crossed that Stetson and our young receiving corp can handle JH on Saturday.

There's so many ways we can attack a defense with him in there. It's a thing of beauty.

Brooks Austin had a nice breakdown of one of Monken's RPO concepts from Arky and it was so nice to see.

LINK

Wish Stetson would have taken the draw, but it was cool to see just how layered the play design was in that moment.

I think the offense has improved greatly under him. Remember, he came in with covid protocols and no spring practice.

We should hit our stride when jt gets back but boy would i love to have pickens back too.

This offense will be nasty if we get JT healthy and add back in Pickens, Washington (fully), Blaylock.

Who the hell are they going to guard, especially if we can keep building on the success in the run we had vs. Arky.

Wouldn’t hurt to have a healthy Arian, MRJS, or Kearis as well.

Don’t forget we lost Tate Ratledge on the first drive of the season, our 6’6”, 330 lb. OG who plays with bad intentions.

I think the guys that have stepped up for the injured have done a spectacular job.

I think our lackluster opinion of our offense is more a product of us only watching 1 quarter of fireworks before we have a lead large enough (and D good enough) to start cranking clock with vanilla stuff.

Here is the summary. In the past we did shite that made absolutely no sense what so ever. Wrong players on the field. Horrible play calling. Horrible timing for specific plays. No real play of action or game plan. It always appeared we were going to do whatever came to mind in the moment. Rarely made adjustments. Pre Kirby

Now and for the last couple of years we focus on what we do best and what the opposing team gives us. There seems to be a plan. We also seem to make adjustments. The plans we have are good plans. We are not as predictable. We avoid the bonehead calls and series failures.

Above all things that Kirby has brought to UGA these things stands out.

Common sense
Confidence
Dedication and determination
Desire
Winning mentality with emphasized importance on winning

What no longer exists
We are going to try to do our best
Oh shucks attitude
Fine young men and a greater purpose
Coming out flat

Really nice pass plays and concepts. The running game could use more creativity imo.

Has stretches of really good calls and then some series that just leave you scratching your head. Overall, he gets a solid "good" from me.

Usey my man... Well said.

On almost every run/pass blitz the OL adjusted beautifully and we got the ball to the RB and they hit the right lane.

No head down up the middle into the crunch...

I wana see more shite like that end around to mcconkey and more deep balls. But hell the running backs looked great against arky. Scoring a lot more points than we did the last couple years too.

He's lived up to the hype this year. His use of our TEs has been good, and our play selection has been a nice change of pace from the typical "run, run, pass, punt" that I've been used to. He mixes things up well, even with some of our best offensive weapons out.
