i remember some talk (behind Rivals' paywall) shortly after Kirby was named that McGarity would be out within the year and Ros was brought up as his replacement. Hope this is true.

This... One could argue that the problems of the former AD were by and large PR related and not actually fundamental issues within the athletic programs... and McGarity has proven time and again that PR is not his strength.
