Yep, Richt knows he's the answer to take us to the next level. Would not be surprised to see him take at least a year off before making a decision about taking another HC job.

It was time for change, but Richt is a class act. Got a little sad watching that.

I watched it and here is my take....

I think he thought he was on the hot seat by didn't think he was actually going to get canned.

He looked and talked like he was holding back from tears or breaking down.

I think it would be good for him to stay in Athens but it seems like he still has a real passion to coach.

Here is what I am pissed about...Richt said he wanted to get back into coaching the QB's and calling the Offensive plays. Why does he now want to start playing calling?!!
He had all the opportunity in the world the last 10 years to do that.

I don't think he stays for the leadership role at UGA.
He is gone.

I hate losing a good man, but it was clear he wasn't going to get it done here.

Oh he made it painfully obvious he was upset and is spurned. He hated the man sitting next to him in the AD. No way he works for him. He is going to be the HC somewhere next year. If we get Mullen i'm gonna be fricking pissed we fired Richt for that.

I think he wants to call plays instead of HC. If you listen to what he said, he primarily complained about all the excess baggage that comes with HC that a lot of people don't see. He complained about all the work off season...recruiting...etc. He really made it sound like HC was too taxing and he doesn't want to do it anymore.

there aren't enough adjectives in our language to describe how pissed I'll be. Like, it would be one of the worst possible hires I can possibly imagine.

Yet, knowing the buffoon we have as an AD, adn knowing they have worked together in the past, it wouldn't shock me.

I didn't see anything like that whatsoever. At all.

I agree. Seemed like he was very deliberately getting the message out there to potential employers that he is open and ready to consider any and all offers..

Well he has aged presidentially over the last few years.

Gonna have to call Mr. Peabody and break out the Wayback Machine to rectify that one.

Wow... that presser.

I've never seen one person look more composed and confident during a press conference, while the person sitting next to him looked like he was hiding a deuce in his pants.

Money fixes things like teeth. Without money Mark Richt would look like one of these fellas; a Cornhusker that swallowed Mark Richt.
