I think he’s a good coach, but not great. I think he’s had a good career at Georgia, but not a great career. I don’t care what Jim Donnan and Ray Goff did before Richt arrived. I don’t care how long it took Vince Dooley to win a national championship. I care that Richt hasn’t won a conference title in almost a decade. I care that his teams have a clunker like Saturday almost every year.

Spot on. Can't argue against anything said in this article.

As a Georgia fan, though, I want an irrational bastard who values his success and his team more than petty things like family and faith. But that's just me

That is what the competition has. Like it or not, that is where CFB is. I admire Richt also....I think it is great that he and his son share a moment and losing like UGA did Saturday is definitely a teaching moment for a dad and a son....but not when the Dad is the CEO and is making the salary that Richt is making. If you were a plumbing contractor and one of your plumbers failed an inspection that cost you some money and he was sharing a moment with his son instead of trying to remedy the situation youd be a little pissed off....and that plumber is only making $60K a year in a business that is not doing near the annual sales that UGA Football is doing. It just is not right. I agree...leave work at work but leave family at home....

So, are you saying that his son shouldn't come to a game? I have no problem with that. We damn sure don't know the context of what was going between the two, but it seems like everyone wants to make shite out what is isn't.

No, I didn't. Honest... I ran out of gas. I... I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from out of town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake. A terrible flood. Locusts! IT WASN'T MY FAULT, I SWEAR TO GOD!

No, I aint saying he ought not to come to the game but if Richt was a salesman, for instance, and had just missed closing an important deal If I were his boss I would rather he not have his kid in the office immediately after hearing the news having a moment. It doesn't make any difference what the context was at that moment what should have been going through his mind is what in the frick can I do to keep this from happening again when instead it is pretty obvious that he and the boy were enjoying a fairly lighthearted exchange and a hug....I aint making millions a year off UGA football and after Chubb fumbled there wasnt a soul in my house who would dare speak to me. My dog even left the room and didnt come back until Sunday morning....

I am glad that Richt is good father...would that there were more in the world...but this is a pretty good example of where we are compared to Alabama or Auburn or most other SEC schools....losing is just too dammed acceptable.....

Son, Georgia has the most fickle fans in America

I disagree, UGA has some of the most loyal fans in America. We should all stand up and demand better. UGA will never reach any higher with Captain Dipshit on the sidelines. That's a great article.

You really drive the point across in an impressive and intellectual manner when you refer to him as "Captain Dipshit"

This article by emerson is really painful. Wilson basically admitted they weren't up for playing and figured UF would be an easy game. Man...I don't see how anyone goes into the WLOCP with that attitude but we sure as hell know what the result is.

Reminds of Theus (I think it was) saying how surprised he was that Auburn's DEs were "trying really hard and playing hard" last year. And Jenkins saying how we figured Mizzou would be an easy pushover last year. Assuming stuff like that against teams that are having great seasons is pretty damning as well.

I think that's because Georgia fans have the undeserved ego of Jeremy Piven, the annoying self-righteousness of Sean Penn, and the unbearable hypocrisy of Rush Limbaugh.

While I appreciate the candor of the interviewed players, their comments are damning that our coaching staff didn't have our players ready for battle in Jacksonville. They knew Florida had a good and experienced defense that would load the box to shut down our running game. They knew Florida was replacing Driskell with a running QB. They knew the weather was going to be windy and cold and that Florida would focus on the run rather than risk turnovers throwing the ball with a less experienced QB. Our defense has been relying on TO's and TO's are a fickle fate. You can't rely on them to replace hard nosed defense against the run.
