From Tyler Simmons dad...
quote:

"Coach Brown let us know he will be retained on the staff for next year, and that they are in the process of looking for coordinators," said Shon Simmons, Tyler's father. "He said Kirby was actively interviewing to get someone there as quickly as possible so we will all understand what is going on."

A hire or two could be imminent, according to Tyler's dad.

"The plan is to have someone in place this weekend because Jacob Eason and the other mid-year kids are coming in, so they want to have that in place so everybody will know who the defensive coordinator and offensive coordinators are," Simmons said. "The plan is to have them by the weekend."

Kirby to UGA was likely one of the worst-kept secrets in all of CFB. Now, his coordinator hires are the most locked-down tidbits in the industry.

Curt CIgnetti being mentioned as a candidate for OC.

He coached with Kirby for a few years.

... tiny world. Curt Cignetti’s brother, Frank Cignetti, Jr., also coaches football, and currently serves as the OC for the St. Louis Rams. Frank Cignetti was promoted from the team's quarterbacks coach to offensive coordinator. He took over for none other than Mr. Brian Schottenheimer.

And he just got fired from the Rams this past week I think.

So with Pruitt out now, what are the chances Kirby brings someone like Tucker from Bama with him to be the DC?

Or maybe just promote Sherrer to DC and bring Tucker to coach dbs since Pruitt will likely do that at Bama.

Sherrer seems to make sense. I highly doubt it will be someone out of left field.

I could get behind Sherrer as DC and Tucker coming in for DBs. Keep Rocker and I'm happy.

Some scuttlebutt on 247 that UGA has made or is at least very close to making an OC hire. I guess we'll see

I am excited to A) see who the OC is, and B) see if saveddawg is right, because he also says Cochran is still UGA bound.

Seen it mentioned a few times but you never know how reliable those insiders are. That being said, I expect it to happen today or tomorrow.

Also, seen one of the insiders say with Eason it will solidify our TE postion (Nauta)

This is the guy that coached Phillip Rivers and recruited Russell Wilson. Good candidate to develop Eason.
