It's a wink and a nod. You know it is. I suspect you were raised as strongly in the church as I was.

But yes, let's unite behind the new coach. At least, for awhile.

Bull shite. I was raised Pentecostal, and my family remains so. This is their lingo. It's code.

And you can bet your sweet, sweet arse that anytime someone on here used that shite as a "go to" defense of Richt, I'd bash the shite out of it and expose it for the Christian bias that it was/is.

So, it is your opinion that Christians should not do good, or that non Christians cannot do good...or, what? You lost me. It is Christian lingo and code for what?

I have seriously heard three people today, IRL, say that they hope UGA goes winless next year, because they let this fine, fine Christian man go. That's the fricking level of derp and vindictiveness you get when you devour one of them.

This is exactly what I was referring to. I have no issues what religion, or how religious Richt is. He could be a bishop in the great spaghetti monster religion for all I care. It is all about the performance on the field, and there is where he has fallen short.

You are trying too hard. It's not about Christians at all. It's about expecting or receiving extra benefits because you belong to some subgroup of society.

You know it's true. You can keep arguing until you are blue in the face. But that's what it is all about. Talking to these fine, vindictive Christian folk let me know what I already knew.

Listening to the espn2 interview after the game yesterday, I couldn't help but think Richt should coach Notre dame

I was. My father is a retired minister of Music. I was raised in the church, and honestly, I am still VERY active. And I can honestly say that I am not perfect, but I try to be. I honestly try to do good. I try to help people. And I worked VERY, very hard at my job until I retired. I don't believe they are exclusive...and I believe there are a lot of people that are like me...and a lot of people that claim to be Christians who do not live or act like Christians.

Honestly...I will probably defend the new coach as fervently as I did Richt. I am very careful before calling anybody to be fired. No matter the money they make or how comfortable someone will be financially, it is a bad and hurtful thing to be told you cannot do your job. I was very fortunate and when I retired I was called and asked to return as a contractor. I JUST left that job and they asked if there was nay way i could stay. I saw a LOT of people lose their jobs and told they were not good enough, though, and it isn't a pretty sight.

Dan Mullen has the same amount of 10 win seasons at MSU that Jackie Sherrill had. Consider me unimpressed. He's something like 5-34 against ranked teams.

My father is the choir director and my mother, the pianist. I am not active. I am an agnostic that can find a measure of comfort in parts of the philosophy of Christ. I do not believe that he was unique, and I do not believe in his divinity.

This has made me a pariah of sorts, all of my free thinking. So be it.

To be fair, Jackie had deeper pockets.

Yes, but he is at Mississippi State. You gotta give him some credit for whta he's don.

Don't get me wrong...he isn't even in my top 5, but it wouldn't be the end of the world, either. Just 2-3 years ago he was one of the hottest name sin coaching....like Herman and Fuentes is now. Rarely do the young hot names pan out. Sherril is an example of that. Donnan. we can go on. But people like the feeling that they might be the program that strikes it rich. That's why so many wanted Richt fired. The feeling that we MIGHT get somebody better. now that Richt is gone, people are looking and saying.....maybe not. What if we made a mistake? These are all questions I was wanting people to ask BEFORE we made a change.

Latest rumor is we contacted Smart after UF game and had a verbal before the Tech game.

Interesting. This is not the time or place....but I wish we could talk. NOT to try to change your mind, but to figure out why you settled on your lack of belief. I am always curious about why people go in the direction they go in.

It wouldn't surprise me. This happened so suddenly it would shock me to know they did not have some kind of agreement. Who knows? Smart might do a great job.

I agree with Dawgslife. Dan Mullen probably isn't my first choice either, but Dan Mullen has done more with less at MSU. He's also doing it in a SEC West climate that is much much different than the days of Jackie Sherril, and has in general been more consistent doing it.

I am, perhaps, overly rational. Rationality dictates that I take nothing on faith alone. Christianity fails to meet my standard, by a wide margin. But it's not alone in that regard.

It's not personal. I only have problems with people, and there are bad people all over...
