Herman will leave as soon as Texas calls. He would be a short-term coach.

Ehh... maybe. People don't leave top 10 jobs very often.

Also, here are some PPG stats in 2014 and 2015.

2014: Ohio St. 5th, Houston 59th
2015: Houston 8th, Ohio St. 31st

Just saying...

We may not make a homerun hire but that doesn't change the fact that richt shouldve been let go. People seem to think firing him and hiring someone else are events that are somehow linked, when in fact, they are not.

Ummmm....yes, they are. What is the purpose of firing Richt? To improve, right? if you do not improve, why would you fire Richt? This isn't a "Hey! Let's fire Richt so we can get worse!" situation. The purpose of changing a coach is almost always to improve....unless you get into a situation where the coach is doing something he should not be doing. (Cheating, etc.)

You are actively rooting for it to happen so you can spite those of us who didn't want Richt to remain coach while underperforming.

As opposed to those who wanted us to lose the rest of our games so Richt would be fired?

Makes perfect sense.

I'm excited it's time to clean house from the top to the bottom. Hire Herman and start the process ASAP.

The lightning bolt offense is finally coming to UGA!

Again...find in my post history an example of this. I am a fan of the University.

this is from a guy who posted yesterday on Rivals pay wall that Richt was done.... he just posted this:

TIFWIW

"Many of you have cast doubts over my posts for the past 72 hours. Perhaps you now see that I have some credible information. My name "insideuga" does not mean to suggest that I have some special inside source. I chose that name years ago (over 13 years ago) when I was an intern in the BM building.

The information I have about the current situation comes from my relationship with someone that is directly involved in things. I do not claim to be some "hotshot insider" as many of you have suggested. I am a booster, alumni, and season ticket holder. I don't know what it means to be a "big booster" so I can't comment on that.

All of these events stem from ADGM and his re'ship w CMR. It is bad bad bad. Regardless of what is said publicly, ADGM tried to have CMR fired last year after the GT game. An informal vote was taken and ADGM could not force it through. You had to know, after having this egg on his face, he was going to find a way to get this done. It was ADGM that refused to give CMB the raise he needed (and deserved) and this caused further damage to the ADGM-CMR re'ship. Eventually, ADGM was "forced" to pay more money to staff and CBS was hired. It seems to me, this could have been intentional on the part of ADGM..but, that is just my supposition.

With that backdrop---Earlier this week, CJP was directly asked if he would work for KS. He has been asked again today. He is debating. Three other coaches have been asked as well. Intially, all 3 have expressed a desire to stay at UGA.

Regarding KS-He wants the job and UGA wants him to take it but there are lots of details that have to be finalized. I expect an announcement w'in 48 hours.

If KS doesn't get the job, I am truly afraid that Mullen is the second option."

Smart is without question the best choice.

He is very important in Alabama recruiting and is a very disciplined coach.

Why would you not one the one assistant coach Saban, the best coach in the country, has protected and paid more than any other assistant in the country?

He would be a great hire and DGD.

Bring him home!!!

Interesting.

That UGAInsider account on twitter is horseshite, and that seems to be from whence all of the Herman talk is arising.

This is true. You were a hater just because it was Richt. How many of you on here openly said you wanted us to lose our remaining games so Richt would be fired? That made you good fans in your world.

That said....I hope UGA makes a great hire and we go undefeated.

But let's take a close look at where we are. Richt won 10 games a year. Will you be happy with 10 wins next year? If so, why? I mean, we have the talent that Richt had and you said a mediocre coach could win 10 games. I am assuming less than 11 wins is a bad year?

Please let's get a guy that can at least show up for the big games.

Considering out schedule, the state of the East, and whether or not Pruitt stays, I think 7-9 wins is realistic. We aren't beating Florida or Tennessee next year, and probably not Ole Miss either.
