Yes, this was a very frustrating season, but one that could be expected. I hate how we seem to have a couple games in the bag and this team lost focus, especially the defense. I still believe that a couple years from now, we will all be singing the praises for this staff. It's a young team with a first year coach. This game meant nothing to this program. No need to start running around wanting to fire everyone.

Wow,back to this again?Good God,we freakin gave up 14 unanswered,4th qtr points to a mediocre GT team and our red zone defense has SUCKED all year.

My thoughts are:

1- if the fat man is back next year we will go 7-5 again. I'd like to see Kirby man up and admit he's not the guy for the job and fire him tonight.
2- if Kirby allows his team to play not to lose we'll see this scenario over and over.
3- until we develop a killer attitude, we'll continue to play down to the level of the Nicholls States and Georgia Techs of the world.

Chaney is worse than Squattenheimer.

Kirby shouldn't get a pass. Obviously we shouldn't fire him, and I'm hopeful he can turn things around, but he should absolutely be held accountable for the stupid mistakes he's made.

No, Kirby's not off the hook for rolling over at the end of the first half and not trying for some kind of points, nor is he given a pass for settling for FGs in the RZ when we knew we needed TDs. Chaney isn't out of hot water in my book for trying to get cute and start throwing it when the run was more than effective.

This year's freshmen had to step up in the absence of leadership from the top, and I commend them for it.

If you think one of our top 3 rivalry games means nothing to the program, you're part of the problem.

Tough loss in another game that we seemed to have complete control over. It's year one and we have to at least give Kirby 3-4 years in order to judge the talent he is bringing in and developing. On the bright side, Paul Johnson just bought himself another 5 years.

They're equally bad.

Maybe I am part of the problem. I see Tech as maybe our 6th biggest rivalry game of the year. Sure, in a season where we have a chance to do something big, the Tech game means something, but I was referring more to this year in particular. The difference in 7-5 vs 8-4 means nothing.

At no point during that game did I ever actually think we were going to win it. Even when we were up 13. Only hope was for more self-inflicted wounds by Tech, but they held it together.

Fitting that Tech scored final TD on a busted play too.

Would somebody please bump some of Squatch's old posts about Richt after a loss. Hell, bump one from after a win. Everything was Richts fault.

Yes I did...after he'd been here for over a decade and lost to the same teams. I was also the guy that wanted to give Richt 3 more years.

But I get it...it's GA football so we have to act like a bunch of morons when we lose...even with a new coach and a whole team of underclass men and transfers. I'm going to blame Rodrigo....if that bastard made the FG then we win.

fricking Rodrigo.

I'll come up with a list of coaching mistakes that were questionable to say the best at the time of Kirby for this year.

I think he's a very hard worker, so he will learn from those mistakes, but to say that those shouldn't be concerning because it's his first year is insane. Charlie Strong is a perfect example of a coach who never learned game management.

When does accountability come into play? I keep reading, we should've beat UT, Vandy and GT, but we could've lost to Nichols, Mizzou, Kentucky, etc. This team is closer to 4-8 than it is to 8-4. Absolutely the worst team I've seen, including Richt's 6-7 squad. Not upset, just very disappointed we gift wrapped wins to others.

That's definitely not true. Yes, we could have lost to those teams, but outside of Mizzou there wasn't a single time we had a low percentage chance to win either of those games. We absolutely should have won the UT and Tech games. Probability backs that up.

Look it up.

I was no fan of Richt but that was after 10 years of no SEC championships.

Look me up in 4 yrs and we'll talk about smart. You guys are unbelievable.
